He has ended his coaching career at club level after helping the Serie A side avoid relegation. 1. Winning The Premier League With Leicester City

The biggest achievement of Claudio Ranieri career is him winning the English Premier League title. This achievement is actually the biggest in club history considering no team has done so. It was a fairytale season that ended with Leicester City winning their first ever Premier League title in history. Besides that, a group of talented individuals such as N’Golo Kante and Riyad Mahrez and caught the attention of football fans worldwide and ended up signing with the some of the biggest clubs in Europe.

Ranieri was sacked by Leicester the following campaign after the club lost the momentum it had come with from the Championship. Fast forward to 2023, the Foxes were relegated to the Championship but will be making a return to the Premier League next season.

2. Success With Fiorentina

After suffering a shock relegation from the Serie A in 1993, Fiorentina needed a good manager to lead them back to the top of Italian football and avoid stagnating in Serie B. This is when Ranieri showed class by stepping in and guided Fiorentina to Serie B triumph. He would then lead them to winning the Coppa Italia in 1996 and Supercoppa Italiana the following year.

His success with Fiorentina is undoubtedly one of the most memorable moments of Claudio Ranieri career.

3. Success With Valencia

After coaching in Italy for about a decade, Ranieri decided to try a new challenge elsewhere. The 72-year-old moved to Spain where he took the managerial role at Valencia in 1997. He has a memorable time with the La Liga club, guiding them to triumph in Copa del Rey and also helping them secure a UEFA champions League spot in 1999. Their victory in the Copa del Rey was not an easy one as they had to beat Real Madrid and FC Barcelona in two legs before winning against Atletico Madrid in the final.

Ranieri coached in England for a while before returning to Spain and taking the Valencia job again, this time leading them to triumph in the UEFA Super Cup.

4. Helping Monaco Secure Promotion To Ligue 1

As we have seen above, Claudio Ranieri is a man who can manage any club, even the ones struggling financially and need revival. After Monaco were relegated to Ligue 2, the club’s board offered Ranieri a contract to lead them back to Ligue 1.

Well, the Italian did what he knows best and guided Monaco back to the top of French football. In his debut season, they managed to avoid being relegated. The next season, he guided them to a second-place finish in Ligue 1, which is impressive even though Paris Saint-Germain beat them in the title race.

Ranieri left Monaco at the end of the season after the clue owners opted not to renew his contract.
