Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic ran the show for Dallas in The Mavericks vs Timberwolves Game 3 on Sunday night with 116- 107.
The Mavs now have a 3-0 lead in the Western Conference finals. Dončić ended the match with a final stat line of 33 points.
He made 7 rebounds, 5 assists, 5 steals, and 5 of 11 3-pointers. Irving finished with 33 points and 4 assists on 3 of 6 long-range attempts.
How Was Mavericks vs Timberwolves Game 3
Dallas Maverick vs Minnesota Timberwolves Game 3 ended in a gallant win for Dallas 116- 107. Doncic made a swift steal from Anthony Edwards of Timberwolves and pushed it far enough to set up a scramble and a jump ball that the Dallas star triumphed over.
It was a beautiful night at the American Airlines Center as the two NBA heavyweights battled it out. Clearly, the Mavericks will make their first trip to the NBA Finals in 13 years if they win Game 4 on Tuesday in Dallas.

In addition to combining for 66 points in the victory for Dallas, Dončić and Irving put up an excellent performance just like in Game 2 of the Western Conference finals.
They were key players in a 14-3 run that ended the game and gave Dallas a 9-point lead. It was during that run that Irving made a tremendous contested corner 3-pointer, effectively putting Minnesota out of reach.
After a solid first half, the Mavericks quickly overcame the Timberwolves, despite losing center Dereck Lively in the process.
To begin Game 3, Lively, who has shot a perfect 13-of-13 from the field in this series, once again dominated inside. He kept Rudy Gobert on his toes with a huge slam in the first quarter of the match.
Incidentally, Karl-Anthony Towns kneed Livey in the head forcing the lethal Mavs player to leave prematurely. Still, Dallas Mavericks was in complete control and sailing towards its third win in three attempts against the Timberwolves.
Livey experienced a neck sprain after the kneeing incident by Towns and the team’s main concern is how soon he recovers.
When he left, Doncic and co were ahead by 10 points, a lead that gradually evaporated in the second half but they steadied their lead.
Why Did Minnesota Timberwolves Lose to Dallas Mavericks?
Minnesota wasn’t so lucky in The Mavericks vs Timberwolves Game 3 only managing 107 points against Mavericks 117 points.
Edwards stunningly registered a team-high of 26 points, 9 rebounds, and 9 assists which was spectacular. It is his best performance yet since the conference finals started.

In contrast, Edwards did more than Towns did in this match. He only managed to score 14 points and grab 11 rebounds on 5 of 18 shots.
Ideally, he hasn’t scored more than 16 points. Overall, the Wolves’ weakest point is its defence.
The Wolves built their entire season around a formidable defence, which has been strengthened by Towns’ All-Star performance. Both have been conspicuously absent when playing Dallas.
Rudy Gobert was benched for the majority of the fourth quarter by Minnesota because they were anxious to match the Mavs’ prolific shooting.
The two strong, dynamic shotmakers just have no match for the Wolves. However, Towns continued a terrible conference finals performance by shooting 27.8 per cent from the floor.
Despite only shooting 11 of 24 for a total of 26 points, Edwards helps the Wolves tie the game in the third quarter with a spectacular slam.
However, nobody could accompany him to relieve part of the strain. The closest scorer, Mike Conley, finished with 16 points on 4 of 7 shots.
And now the Minnesota’s season is on life support. No team has ever come back from a 3-0 deficit to win meaning the Mavs have a chance in the NBA Finals.
