Oddly enough, last summer‘s goalkeeper searches were undertaken by Tottenham, Manchester United, Arsenal, and Chelsea. Vicario has adapted to the Premier League like a duck to water, whereas David Raya, Robert Sanchez, and Andre Onana have all had uneven beginnings at their respective teams.

The Italian goalie has not only stopped shots admirably, but he has also performed as well out of the back as other goalies in the division. Acquiring a player of his caliber for just more than £17 million seems like a brilliant move.

Ross Barkley – Luton

Perhaps a free transfer to Luton Town last summer was the perfect way to sum up Ross Barkley’s deterioration. Barkley, who has 33 caps for his country, was once hailed as the next Paul Gascoigne of the England midfield. However, since joining Chelsea in 2018, he has underperformed and has been on the decline.

Prior to joining the recently promoted Hatters, who saw an opportunity to get a top-tier player for nothing, he had a brief and dismal stint with Nice. With Barkley’s comeback in a more central role being one of the biggest tales of the Premier League season, the free transfer has been sparked.

Because of his quality of play this season, those who have observed Barkley at Kenilworth Road have said that the 30-year-old may be the best player to have donned Luton colors. Even though the team was demoted at the end of the season, Barkley is not expected to stay. He is being pushed to go from the Championship to the Champions League by Aston Villa.

Declan Rice – Arsenal

Sometimes you have to spend a lot of money in order to advance. Even though Arsenal did not win the title, they made it clear that they intend to continue battling for the Premier League.

Declan Rice gave Mikel Arteta’s squad an extra layer of stability and grit, and he was a driving factor behind the club’s challenge. It’s no accident that Rice, who provided presence in front of the backline while displaying a more comprehensive skill set than we ever saw at West Ham, helped Arsenal to the best defensive record in the league.

As he assumed set-piece duty for the North Londoners, he has established career-best totals for goals (7) and assists (8) without sacrificing his ball-winning and defending abilities.

Although he cost £105 million, he has shown to be worthwhile. This season at the Emirates, he has improved others around him.

van de Ven – Tottenham

Physically amazing, Micky van de Ven has been outstanding for Spurs ever since joining from Wolfsburg. Because of his incredible ability to move his 6′ 4″ stature quickly in pursuit of opposing attackers, the 23-year-old was awarded Tottenham’s Player of the Season this month.

Earlier in the season, he broke the record for the quickest speed ever recorded by a Premier League player. He mixes his quickness with superb anticipation and confidence when he’s on the ball. He has all it takes to become one of the greatest around.

Cole Palmer – Chelsea

Cole Palmer wanted to leave Manchester City last summer, and it was assumed that the young player would play in the lower divisions to get the first-team experience he so much wanted.

Chelsea came in swooping, carrying on their strategy of acquiring every young talent the team could get its hands on, and they struck gold. In a time when Chelsea had dubious recruiting practices, Palmer has not only been a remarkable success story—he has been extraordinary.

With 22 goals and 11 assists at season’s conclusion, the 22-year-old leads all Premier League players in goal involvement (2023–24), and he is a guarantee to play for England in the European Championship.

He has been amazing to see, even putting aside the figures. Palmer has ice in his veins, and his signature “Cold” Palmer celebration is very appropriate. He has occasionally shown ridiculous skill and is a worthy recipient of the Premier League’s Young Player of the Season title. Examples of his exploits include a hat-trick against Manchester United and a four-goal rout of Everton.
