Emma Raducanu French Open wild card is no longer an option; she has to play in the qualifying rounds to play at Roland Garros.
Organisers of the tournament reportedly denied her a wild card to the second Grand Slam of the year. She is currently ranked world No. 212.
Her ranking fell greatly last season because she only played less than ten matches and took a hiatus due to recurring injuries.
The Brit underwent foot surgery and double-wrist surgery in May 2023. She only returned on tour this season and she hasn’t had a lot of luck.
Emma Raducanu French Open Wild Card
Tournament officials declined to hand Raducanu a wild card to the 2024 French Open starting on May 20 to June 9.
She withdrew from the WTA 500 tournament in Strasbourg meaning she could be eyeing the qualifying round of Roland Garros which requires another extra week.

A wild card is an exceptional opportunity provided by the tournament organisers that permits a player to participate in the main draw, or the main competition, of the event, even in the case that they have not qualified via the standard routes.
Players typically get into a tournament’s main draw by virtue of their world ranking. It’s possible that they have to win games in a qualification competition first.
A player can compete straight in the main draw and bypass these qualification steps by using a wild card. Further, the recipients of wild cards are chosen at the tournament directors’ discretion.
Potential considerations they look at are past performance which must be strong and nationality. Tournament organisers give local players wild cards as a form of growing and supporting tennis domestically.
Has Emma Raducanu Won in 2024?
The 21-year-old hasn’t won a single tournament since her return this season. She got off to a great start at the Australian Open in 2024, winning her opening match against Shelby Rogers.
But her journey came to an end in the second round when she lost to Wang Yafan in a match that lasted three sets.
She showed a ray of hope at the Indian Wells where she got a wild card and showed considerable improvement. The 2021 US Open winner took full advantage of the opportunity, winning back-to-back matches for the first time since her early exit in Melbourne.
She defeated Dayana Yastremska and Rebeka Masarova to set up a match against Aryna Sabalenka in the third round.
Raducanu impressively battled Sabalenka to the point the Belarusian tennis star praised her skills. She challenged the two-time defending Australian Open champion but lost 6-3, 7-5 after giving up a break point at 4-4 in the second set.
In the decisive game of the match, Sabalenka secured victory with her fourth match point of the long game after the British player created three break points.

Raducanu continued to take a long view of her progress and was positive about her performance even after losing.
“It was a good success, I would say. I think I have handled myself a lot better on the match court. I was a lot more positive and hungry to play, and that showed I think in the tennis that I did play,” she told US Open Org.
Sabalenka praised her stating that she pushed her so hard yet she hadn’t played tennis in the past year
“She fought till the end. She didn’t give up in the last game. She was trying her best and during the match she was fighting for it. She’s an incredible player and she played great tennis today, even though she didn’t play many matches in the past couple of months,” Sabalenka added.
Meanwhile, the Brit is looking at rising in tennis ranking by the end of the season under her coach Nick Cavaday.
