The Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson boxing match has been sanctioned as a professional fight, according to reports. This means that the result of the heavyweight clash, which will be live on Netflix, will be added in their professional records.
Jake Paul, who has only suffered one loss in his ten pro fights, will be looking forward to avoid another defeat when the pair met in Arlington. On the other hand, the legendary Mike Tyson will be aiming to show the world that he is still good despite being in his late 50s.

Iron Mike will also be avoiding adding a sixth defeat onto his professional record which currently is 50-6, with 44 knockouts. Tyson has not fought professionally since losing to Kevin McBride back on June 11, 2005. However, he has taken part in various exhibition bouts over the years in order to make himself financially stable. Mike declared bankrupt in 2003 mainly because of “reckless spending”.
The last time the American engaged in a fight on the ring was in 2020 when he faced former four-division world champion, Roy Jones Jr., in an eight-round exhibition. The bout, which was officially sanctioned by the California State Athletic Commission (CSAC), went the full 8 rounds before the judges ruled it out as a draw.
When Is Jake Paul Vs Mike Tyson?
The Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson fight has been scheduled to take place in the summer. The exact date for the blockbuster is July 20 and it will take place at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The fight will be streamed on Netflix.
The streaming company dubbed the fight a boxing mega-event. This is not the first time that Netflix has broadcasted a sporting event as it has previously showed a tennis match between veteran Rafael Nadal and prodigy Carlos Alcaraz, a golf tournament called the Netflix Cup that brought together PGA players and Formula 1 drivers.
The fight was initially expected to be an exhibition considering Mike Tyson’s age but the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations (TDLR) decided to sanction it anyway. Tyson will be 58 by the time he enters the ring to face Jake, which makes him 31 years older than the boxing prodigy. This is the biggest gap in boxing history, according to NBC News.

“Mike Tyson and Jake Paul signed on to fight each other with the desire to do so in a sanctioned professional fight that would have a definitive outcome. Over the past six weeks MVP has worked with its partners to satisfy the requirements of the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations (TDLR) to sanction Paul vs. Tyson and we are grateful that we have gotten to this point.” NBC News quotes Most Valuable Promotions co-founder Nakisa Bidarian.
Whereas Mike Tyson boasts a rich history in boxing, his opponent Jake is just getting started. Mike was dubbed The Baddest Man on the Planet due to his dominance in the ring and ferocious fighting style.
Tyson claimed his first belt at 20 years, 4 months, and 22 days old and still holds the record for the youngest heavyweight champion in boxing history.
Meanwhile, Jake’s journey in combat sports started by him facing retired MMA fighters before transitioning to boxing. Some of the top fighters he has faced since 2021 include Nate Diaz, Ben Askren, Anderson Silva and Tyron Woodley. The 27-year-old suffered his first defeat at the start of 2023 when he was defeated by Tommy Fury in Diriyah Arena, Diriyah, Saudi Arabia.
The undercard of the Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson will see seven-division champion Amanda Serrano and lightweight champion Katie Taylor fight in a rematch of their April 2022 bout.
