Ethan Rupert Pinnock is a Jamaican professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Premier League club Brentford and the Jamaica national team. He began his football journey at the age of nine years when he joined the Millwall academy where he showed his potential as a winger.
Pinnock was released from Millwall due to his short stature which was a big blow as he was determined to succeed in the sport. Undeterred, he embarked on a path to play for Fisher Athletic, AFC Wimbledon and Glebe in the non-league scene. He then joined Dulwich Hamlet which we can identify as his turning point.
While playing with the club, he found his position as a central defender and a growth spurt transformed his game, making the position suitable. His impressive displays earned him a move to Forest Green Rovers where he helped them achieve promotion to the Football league.
A year later, he was signed by Barnsley where he became a key player and earned recognition for his aerial prowess and tackling ability. With his impression, he was signed by Brentford, a transition to the Championship and played a role in the team’s promotion to the Premier League in 2021.
