AC Milan beat Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) 2-1 on Tuesday night to secure their first Champions League win of the season. Former Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar put PSG in front after nine minutes of play but their advantage lasted only three minutes before Rafael Leao netted an equalizer. Olivier Giroud then scored the winner for the hosts five minutes into the second half in front of 75,649 supporters at the San Siro.
The victory means last seasons’s semi-finalist Milan have a chance of progressing to the knockout stages after showing a much improved performance. However, the evening ended on a sour note for the hosts as Christian Pulisic left the pitch with an injury on his hamstring.

How AC Milan Beat PSG
AC Milan were on a three-game winless run and had not scored a UEFA Champions League goal this season before facing Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday night.
PSG opened the scoring nine minutes into the match through Milan Skriniar, who headed in from close range following Marquinhos’ flick-on from a corner kick. It was the centre-back’s first goal for the Parisians since his arrival this summer.
When it seemed things would be difficult for AC Milan, they picked themselves up and levelled the score three minutes later. It was Rafael Leao who opened their Champions League account with a spectacular overhead kick in the 12th minute.
Milan would then create more chances before the break, with Leao and Olivier Giroud hitting the side netting. PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma was tested on multiple occasions in the first 45 minutes of play. The former Milan star also had a difficult time with the fans who booed him and also threw fake money towards him. It was his first return to San Siro since his departure to PSG during the 2021 summer transfer window.
AC Milan went ahead five minutes after the break through Olivier Giroud, who scored his 24th UEFA Champions League goal. It was also his fifth goal against PSG who he has played against several times.

PSG switched off after the goal and substitute Noah Okafor nearly scored another goal for the hosts but Donnarumma did well to deny him. Lee Kang-in had an opportunity to level the scores for PSG but his shot was tipped onto the bar by Mike Maignan.
Kylian Mbappe had a difficult night at San Siro as he didn’t have any big chance. PSG summer signing Ousmane Dembele who is yet to score since his arrival from FC Barcelona, hit the crossbar from a long range during the match against AC Milan.
