Shawn Paul Bradley is a German-American former professional basketball player who played centre for several NBA teams and his net worth in 2023 is estimated to be $27 million from his successful basketball career.

Bradley happens to be one of the tallest NBA players in the history of the NBA. He was selected by the Philadelphia 76ers with the second overall pick in the 1993 NBA draft.

He played for Philadelphia for two seasons before he was traded to the New Jersey Nets where he played for two seasons before being traded to the Dallas Mavericks.

The centre player played for the Dallas Mavericks for eight seasons and was named to the NBA All-Defensive Second Team till his retirement in 2005.

Personal Life

Shawn Bradley was born on March 22 1972 in Landstuhl, West Germany as his family was stationed at the U.S military base medical facility.

His parents are Reiner Bradley and Teresa Bradley and he has eight siblings. The player grew up in Castle Dale, Utah and holds citizenship in both the United States and Germany.

Bradley inherited his height from his parents who are both tall. In high school, he was a standout basketball, football and baseball player at Emy High School where he won two state championships.

He was also named All-State three times and twice earned the season MVP award. After high school, he joined Brigham Young University where he played for the Cougars, helping lead BYU to the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA Tournament.

Bradley was selected by the Philadelphia 76ers with the second overall pick in the 1993 NBA draft. He played in the NBA for 12 seasons and was named to the NBA All-Second Team.

Bradley retired from active playing in 2005 and has since worked as a basketball analyst for ESPN. 

The former player founded an organization known as the Shawn Bradley Foundation which assists people with spinal cord injuries.

He was previously married to Annette Everson and they had six children together. He is currently married to Carrie Canon.

Two years ago, Bradley was struck by a motorist when he was riding on his bicycle, an accident that resulted in a traumatic spinal cord injury in his neck that left him paralyzed from the chest down.

This made him start the initiative that helps those with spinal cord injuries.

Shawn Bradley is a former NBA player who played for 12 seasons. He was also named All-State three times and twice earned the season MVP award. After high school, he joined Brigham Young University where he played for the Cougars, helping lead BYU to the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA Tournament.

Bradley spent his first two seasons with the 76ers before being traded to the New Jersey Nets where he played for two seasons with the Nets before being traded to the Dallas Mavericks.

He played for the Mavericks for eight seasons becoming one of the most popular players in Franchise history and was named to the NBA All-Defensive Second Team.

The former player retired from active playing in 2005 and became a basketball analyst with ESPN.

His career was not without challenges as he was often criticized for his offensive skills and tendency to foul though he was a valuable asset to his team.
