Gautam Gambhir began playing cricket at the age of ten. In 2000, National Cricket Academy of Bangalore drafted him for the first intake. He began his career as an attacking batsman and performed consistently after making his first-class debut.
In 2002, Gambhir scored two consecutive double hundreds, catching the attention of Indian Cricket team. He made his debut in 2003 during India’s tour to Bangladesh for TVS Cup.
