GK: Marc-Andre Ter Stegen (Barcelona)

Marc-Andre Ter Stegen, Barcelona’s goalkeeper, deserves a lot of credit for helping them preserve all three points on Wednesday. Ter Stegen produced a huge save to keep his clean sheet. Porto will be perplexed as to how they lost the game and ended up empty-handed.

RB: Jordan Teze (PSV Eindhoven)

Jordan Teze created four chances to score for PSV and had more touches in the opponent’s box than his own as he regularly went forward against Sevilla in a daring display of attacking intent. In the 95th minute of the game, he equalized the score after persisting for a while.

CB: Jules Kounde (Barcelona)

Jules Kounde of Barcelona was the star of the match after helping his club keep a clean sheet against Porto. At the Estadio do Dragao, the Frenchman performed a truly sensational last-second tackle to prevent the home team from tying the score.

CB: Alessandro Bastoni (Inter Milan)

Bastoni made a good start against Benfica on Tuesday night at the San Siro, bouncing back smartly when Angel Di Maria appeared to have turned him as he approached the penalty area. The youngster only gained confidence as Inter kept Benfica at arm’s length from that point on.

The Italian center-back performed a fantastic job against Benfica of snuffing out threats in the box, but he also produced for Inter Milan at the opposite end.

LB: Dan Burn (Newcastle Utd)

Dan Burn and his teammates looked so secure against PSG on Wednesday night that you wouldn’t have known they were up against some of the finest offensive talent in European football. The product of Blythe completed the ideal night for the Newcastle defense by scoring his first Champions League goal.

CM: Phil Foden (Man City)

Phil Foden put in yet another outstanding performance this week, capping it off with a goal against RB Leipzig after a well-timed move into the box.

CM: Kaan Ayhan (Galatasaray)

The 28-year-old’s tenacious play epitomized Galatasaray’s first victory over Manchester United. They refused to be derailed by the goals they gave up, and Kaan Ayhan in particular made it his mission to recover every stray ball or lost pass before anybody wearing red.

Midfielder Kaan Ayhan of Galatasaray terrorized Manchester United throughout the middle of the week, winning nine of his 11 duels. He also produced four interceptions, four clearances, and ten ball recoveries in addition to winning all three of his aerials.

CM: Jude Bellingham (Real Madrid)

The English native was instrumental in Real Madrid’s crucial 3-2 victory over Napoli, and he also scored an incredible solo goal during the match at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.

That is quite typical for Bellingham while wearing a Real Madrid jersey. It is more a matter of when than if he becomes one of the top players in the world if he isn’t already.

CF: Alvaro Morata (Atletico Madrid)

On Wednesday night, the Spanish striker scored twice against Feyenoord as Atletico Madrid rallied from behind twice to win the match at home. This season, Alvaro Morata has been in outstanding form, scoring five goals in six league games.

CF: Rasmus Hojlund (Man Utd)

Hojlund is even more radiant against the murk of Old Trafford. His performance in the loss to Galatasaray was that of a complete striker; he can pursue the ball into the channels, use his muscles to have an impact on defenders, or turn on the afterburners and leave them in his wake.

Rasmus Hojlund scored twice against Galatasaray on Tuesday, looking every inch the number nine that Manchester United has been pleading for for years. He properly timed his run to head home the first race before sprinting away and prodding home the second.

CF: Bruma (Sporting Braga)

In order to tie the score against Union Berlin, Braga’s Portuguese winger Bruma delivered one of the finest goals you’re ever likely to witness. Andre Castro, who scored a thrilling last-second victory, was also set up by the 28-year-old.
