He is still young and developing but his potential of becoming a first-team regular at the club in future is very high.

Playing in the EFL Cup is a major achievement for the tongue player. He has not played in the Premier League or the Champions League but there are flashes of hope that he is Arsenal’s next big player if he is given more opportunities.

Who is Sagoe Jr?

Charles Sagoe Junior is a 19-year-old professional football player who plays as a midfielder or a winger for club Arsenal.

He was born in Kingston upon Thames, England on July 24 2004 to Ghanaian parents, making him eligible to play for both England and Ghana at the international level, at the international level though he hasn’t played for his native land so far.

What is his Educational Background?

The player was born and raised in Kingston and is likely to have attended an online school or taken private tutoring to accommodate his busy football schedule.

He is intelligent and very articulate and has spoken about his desire to pursue a higher education after his football career is over, possibly in business or economics.

How did he join Arsenal?

Born and brought up in England, the young player started playing at a young age with Fulham at 11 years. This is where the Arsenal scouts spotted him while playing for Fulham’s youth team and was invited to join Hale End, Arsenal’s academy training ground.

He trained with Hale End, Arsenal’s academy training ground for eight years before making his senior debut in 2023 at the EFL Cup.

The academy is credited with helping him develop into the player he is today, with the coaches helping him learn everything about football, making him the star he is today at only 19 years old.

This academy is also known for high-quality training and coaching. It has produced the best and biggest stars in Arsenal’s history, the likes of Bukayo Sako, Emile Smith Rowe and Ainsley Maitland-Niles.

What was the EFL’s Cup impact on him?

Sagoe Jr. made his debut for Arsenal in an EFL Cup against Brentford though they lost to them. During the tournament, his performance earned him the attention of the Arsenal manager Mike Arteta who was impressed and allowed him to train with the first team.
