He started playing football at a young age, quickly established himself as a talented player, joined the Diambars FC academy and since then has played for several clubs locally and internationally.

Career
Diedhiou started his career with Gazelec Ajaccio and later joined FC Sochaux-Montbeliard where he scored his first Ligue 2 goal against AC Arles-Avignon.
The striker was then loaned to Clermont Foot from Sochaux and in the season, he scored 22 goals in 37 matches.
In the following season, he moved up a tier joining Ligue 1 club Angers SCO on a transfer fee of $1.75 million, played for only one season and scored nine goals.
The striker then signed a four-year contract with English championship club Bristol City for a transfer of $6.8 million, making his debut for the club in a win over Barnsley, helping the club reach the semi-finals of the EFL Cup.
Diedhio joined Alanyaspor on a four-year contract, then to AL-Hilal and two years later he joined Segunda Division club Granada CF on loan with a buyout option at the end of the season.

He has been a regular member of the Senegal national team and has represented his country internationally in several tournaments.
