Born in Brazil, Angelo plays as a right winger and has been described as a pacy player who is good in dribbling. The youngster has been part of Santos’ senior team since early 2021. He made his debut for the Brazilian side as a 15-year-old, beating Pele’s record as the club’s second-youngest debutant by eleven days.

In 2021, he became the youngest goalscorer in the history of the Copa Libertadores, South America’s equivalent of the UEFA Champions League.

Angelo has since made over 120 appearances for Santos. However, the 5 ft 8 in forward has only managed five goals playing for Neymar Jr’s former club. FootballTransfers describes Angelo as a player who is more of a creator than a dribbler.

The youngster has so far played three games for Brazil’s under-20 team. He will be a great asses for Chelsea, who are building a team of young players. The Blues have already signed the likes of Andrey Santos and Ecuadorian teenager Kendry Paez in recent months.

What Clubs Are Interested In Signing Angelo Gabriel?

The youngster, who is regarded as one of the most exciting talents in Brazil now, was also on Barcelona’s radar. The Catalans have 48 hours to match Chelsea’s bid if they want to sigh Angelo. However, Barca Universal reports that Barcelona have decided not to execute the purchase option they have.

Barcelona have had their eyes on Angelo for a long time and secured the purchase option they have for the player back in 2022. The youngster was close to joining Nottingham Forest last winter transfer window but ended up remaining in Brazil.

According to Barca Universal, Barcelona could have challenged Chelsea for Angelo Gabriel if they were not struggling with the Financial Fair Play situation they are in right now. As a result, the talented winger is likely to complete his transfer to Chelsea any time soon without the Premier League club being challenged for his signature.

Barcelona found themselves in a similar situation last summer transfer window following the transfer of defender Kayky Fernandes. Barca had a purchase option and a right of refusal for the youngster; however, deciding against activating either clause and he moved to Almeria.

Barcelona are currently struggling to sign and register another Brazilian wonderkid Vitor Roque. The 18-year-old is from Flamengo, Vinicius Junior‘s former club.
