Career
Being born in Senegal, Sakho joined the Generation foot academy in Dakar, a feeder club for FC Metz when he was 16 years. After six months at the club, he moved to France where he began training with Metz.
He scored 17 goals in 22 games for Metz, being awarded a first-team place. He came in as a substitute in his first three seasons being loaned to Boulogne in 2012. A few months later, the then manager in Metz gave him a position in the team. He scored 19 goals in 33 appearances, Metz finishing second winning promotion to Ligue 2.
In season 2013-14, he scored 20 goals in 36 appearances, Metz won the Ligue 2 title and was voted as the Ligue 2 player of that season.
In 2014, he signed a four-year contract with West Ham United at an undisclosed amount. His first debut at the club was in a match against Crystal Palace where he came in as a substitute.
At the club, he scored in various matches and also became the first West Ham player to score in six Premier League games, being awarded the Premier League Player of the Month award with his manager being named the Manager of the Month.

In January 2018, he joined Club Rennes at an undisclosed fee and scored on his debut in Coupe de la Ligue against PSG in a 3-2 win. Seven months later, he joined Stade Rennais scoring in Coupe de la Ligue against PSG.
On the last day of his transfer window at Stade, he joined Bursaspor on a loan for the season. At the club, he took almost two years later joined club Neuchatel Xamax on a deal until the end of the season. However, he didn’t score in the appearances at the club.
