- Drake predicted Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis will beat Ryan Garcia and the Baltimore native did get the job done
- Earlier this month, Drake won over £2 million after placing on Israel Adesanya to beat Alex Pereira at UFC 287
Drake was a happy man on Saturday evening as his bet on Gervonta Davis vs Ryan Garcia fight went as he fancied.
Drake had predicted Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis to beat Garcia and the Baltimore native did get the job done. Tank won the fight by TKO in the seventh round after a vicious body shot to his opponent. As a result, Drake walked away with $1.38 million.
However, Drake’s winnings did take a hit as three other bets he had placed on Davis missed. The Canadian rap star had placed three separate bets on Davis to score a knockout win over Garcia in round one, two and three. The bets were worth $15,000 each.

Speaking after the fight, Gervonta Davis joked that he needed half of Drake’s win.
“I need half of that. No, it’s pretty cool to have people like that believe in me. It made me push harder and stuff like that. So shoutout to Drake and the rest of the people that backed me.” Gervonta Davis said at the post-fight conference, as per talkSPORT.
Well, this is not the first time that Drake has made headlines for winning a bet. In March, the Canadian rapper proved that his curse is just a myth by winning £1.4 million after placing a bet on Jon Jones to beat Ciryl Gane. Jones defeated his opponent in the first round and won the heavyweight title. Earlier this month, Drake won over £2 million after placing on Israel Adesanya to beat Alex Pereira at UFC 287.
“I’m The Face Of Boxing” Gervonta Davis
Gervonta Davis knocked out Ryan Garcia with a withering body shot in the seventh round on Saturday night to become the face of American boxing.
The Gervonta Davis vs Ryan Garcia fight was between two unbeaten knockout stars in their primes. This is one of the biggest fights we are going to see this year. No titles were on line as Davis (29-0, 27 KOs) moved forward as the sport’s biggest star in the United States.
Davis sent Garcia to the canvas in the second round before finishing him off in the seventh with a perfect uppercut to the ribs. The crowd at the T-Mobile Arena went wild as the referee signalled that Garcia couldn’t continue with the fight.

Speaking after the fight, Davis said that his win was as big as Rihanna performing on the Super Bowl show.
” I remember coming up in the Golden Gloves and seeing [Floyd Mayweather Jr] fight at the MGM. I just saw Rihanna perform at the Super Bowl and I was like that was going to be me one day. And here we are. I’m definitely the face of boxing. Abso-fucking-lutely.” The Guardian quotes Gervonta Davis.
