Lorenzo Giorgetti, the former chief commercial officer of AC Milan, is now Formula One team Ferrari’s new chief revenue office.

The purpose of employing Lorenzo Giorgetti, according to Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna, is to connect with the ardent global fan community.

“We are delighted to welcome Lorenzo as our chief racing revenue officer. With his experience and leadership, Ferrari will further develop long-term collaborations with our sponsors across all sport activities, including the emerging Esports world, and with our passionate global fan community,” Benedetto said in a statement.

Giorgetti expressed his enthusiasm in working for the company and the sense of accountability that came with being given this position.

The new Ferrari chief revenue officer said joining the brand is a tremendous honour, which he is approaching a balance of excitement and responsibility. He is excited at the fantastic chances he will create with the help of Ferrari’s amazing sponsors and supporters.

And with a strong sense of obligation to Ferrari’s past, present, and future, he said, he is ready to open a new chapter.

The CEO of the Italian manufacturer stated that the F1 team will not be content with finishing second in the championship. By moving up to the front of the grid with Red Bull, the F1 team staged a triumphant comeback in the previous season.

After spending several years in midfield, the team was in a lot better place by the end of 2022. Despite this, the squad still fell short of winning the championship and underperformed compared to the package’s potential.

During a press conference, Vigna made it evident to the media that the goal is winning the 2023 championship this time.

Engine troubles dogged Ferrari in 2022, and the team failed to make a pass over Red Bull which finished top. However, engineering developments in its new model are sure to compete this season against Red Bull.

There is a rumoured 30bhp addition of engine power in the new Ferrari 2023, which is part of efforts to promote reliability.

Ferrari had a solid start to the 2022 season, taking two of the first three races. The pace issues that dogged its 2020 and 2021 seasons seemed resolved. Still, Ferrari’s chances of winning the championship vanished due to on-track miscues, reliability issues, and strategy gaffes.

Max Verstappen won 15 of Red Bull’s 17 grand prix victories throughout the year, which they went on to dominate.

The team has concentrated on increasing engine dependability and performance in medium- and low-speed corners as its main areas of improvement during the winter break.

With Frederic Vasseur taking over for Mattia Binotto, who is leaving the company after more than 20 years, Ferrari has made a significant move in the team manager position.

Since winning the Constructors’ Championship in 2008, Ferrari has gone without a championship. Ferrari is hoping to end this streak. In 2007, Kimi Raikkonen won its final Drivers’ Championship.

The Italian team has scheduled a February 14 launch date for its 2023 vehicle, which has not yet been given a name in the media. Ferrari named the new model ‘Project 675’.
