Borussia Dortmund manager Marco Rose has confirmed that a hip flexor injury will rule out star forward Erling Haaland for the next few weeks, meaning he will not be available for the Bundesliga outfit.
The Norway international only returned to action in last weekend’s win over Mainz after a muscular problem saw him miss three games for Rose’s side, he was then involved in Tuesday’s 4-0 loss to Ajax Amsterdam in the Champions League.
However, the 21-year-old prolific goalscorer, who has already scored 13 goals in 10 appearances across all competitions this season, is now set for another spell on the sidelines.

Addressing the media ahead of Dortmund’s Bundesliga trip to Arminia Bielefeld on Saturday, Rose said: “Erling Haaland won’t play and will be absent for a few weeks with a hip flexor injury.
“Haaland has, of course, been down. He was happy to be back and still felt really good after the Mainz game.”
Rose confirmed that Thomas Meunier and Nico Schulz will also be absent this weekend through injury.
Haaland provided fans with an update on Friday. Posting to his 1.3 million followers on Twitter, he said: “Time to focus on my recovery, I’ll be back stronger.”
Dortmund are second in the Bundesliga with 18 points from their opening eight games, just one point behind leaders and reigning champions Bayern Munich.

Haaland has been a proven goalscorer since joining Dortmund in January 2o20 from RB Salzburg and has been a key factor in the black and yellow squad.
The striker has scored a record 21 goals in the UEFA Champions League in only 17 appearances and many have compared him to the competition’s great, Cristiano Ronaldo for his scoring ability.
He has scored a total of 70 goals in 69 appearances for Dortmund and Marco Rose could not deny the fact that the squad will miss him during his time on the sidelines.
Last season, he finished the Bundesliga the second-highest goalscorer with 27 goals in 27 league appearances. The only player who scored more than the Norweignan is Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski who netted a record 41 goals.
