There is an abundance of quality in German football at the moment, and this season has seen the top teams in the Bundesliga show off their strength in European competitions.

Recently crowned Bundesliga winners, Bayer Leverkusen will play Atalanta in the Europa League final, while Borussia Dortmund advances to a Champions League final versus Real Madrid.

We have decided to take a look at the players from the Bundesliga who will be in demand this summer transfer.

Victor Boniface

One of the Bundesliga’s rising talents, Victor Boniface is a Nigerian who has been instrumental in Bayer Leverkusen’s incredible season.

Last summer, Boniface left Union Saint-Gilloise in a €20 million transfer after concluding the 2022–2023 season as the Europa League’s top scorer. In German football, he immediately made an impact, winning the Rookie of the Month title four times in a row from August to November.

The 26-year-old has made 32 appearances this season, scoring 20 goals and dishing out 10 assists, shattering defenses with his powerful physical build and ball-carrying ability. After suffering an injury that interrupted his progress in the middle of the season, Boniface is back and looking to complete an incredible first season at Leverkusen with a triple crown. Xabi Alonso’s team will play Atalanta in the Europa League final and Kaiserslautern in the DFP-Pokal final.

Prior to the upcoming season, Leverkusen will wish to retain its historically significant team, but there has been an internal understanding that one star player may go. With so many European powerhouses looking for a center-forward, Boniface may be toward the top of shortlists.

Serhou Guirassy

After smashing records in the Bundesliga to open the season, Serhou Guirassy has burst onto the European scene this year.

With seven games played, the Stuttgart striker has already scored 13 goals, breaking Robert Lewandowski’s previous record of 11. Ahead of the last weekend of the Bundesliga, Guirassy has scored 26 goals in 27 games, continuing to run rampant and help Stuttgart qualify for the Champions League.

It has been a remarkable season for the 28-year-old, who is currently fourth in the contention for the European Golden Shoe, behind Harry Kane, Erling Haaland, and Kylian Mbappe.

He might be a great addition in an overpriced transfer market, with a release clause of only about €17.5 million (£15 million).

Chris Führich

In the Bundesliga, the 26-year-old leads the division in progressive carries (150) and has eight goals and seven assists. Whether playing from the left or center, the midfielder has given the Stuttgart team more energy. He also ranks among the Bundesliga’s best players in terms of predicted assists (7th), successful takeaways (5th), and shot-creating actions (6th).

Führich made his Germany debut in October thanks to his good play, and this summer, the winger might play for his country in a home European Championship.

Despite fierce competition from German teams, Führich is rumored to have turned down a move to the Premier League last summer. This season, West Ham and Chelsea have scouted him. Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig, Bayer Leverkusen, and Bayern Munich are all interested in signing a player whose contract is about to expire in the summer. He may be had for as little as €20 million (£17.1 million).

Jeremie Frimpong

This summer, the Bundesliga is expected to be a hotspot of intriguing release clauses, and Jeremie Frimpong may find himself in high demand from elite teams.

Since joining Bayer Leverkusen from Celtic in 2021, Frimpong has been a revelation, developing into one of the world’s most productive wing-backs after starting for Manchester City.

With Xabi Alonso’s treble-chasing team, the 23-year-old has 14 goals and 12 assists in all competitions. Frimpong is free to attack at will. The outcome has been a consistent final product that has been named to the Bundesliga Team of the Season for several campaigns running.

At a mere £34 million, it appears to be an investment too excellent to ignore.
