Flamboyant boxer Floyd Mayweather is in a Dubai jail, reliable sources have confirmed.

There were reports earlier that the American boxer was no longer a free man but it was unbelievable. Gervonta Davis first went out with these reports but many of Mayweather’s fans cast doubt on it.

Davis indicated that Mayweather was in for a run with Dubai authorities due to money issues. Still, it passed off as more of speculation than the truth.

Floyd Mayweather is in a Dubai Jail

Amid the speculation, IBHOF elector, Rick Glaser wiped the speculation with confirmation that ‘Mr Money Bags’ is having it rough with Dubai authorities.

Glaser explained that Mayweather was detained over an outstanding payment not associated with boxing. He added that the flashy boxer has tried to work it out to no avail.

He is now a prisoner waiting for intervention while in jail.

“Just got off the phone with my guy in Dubai, he told me that #Floyd #Mayweather is definitely being held by the Government court system there as he owes a substantial amount of money in Dubai. They take indebtedness over there very seriously. Was told the debt is #unassociated with #Boxing. Floyd’s desperately trying to work things out, to no avail so far. So @Gervontaa #TankDavis is correct that Floyd’s being held there!!!” Glaser posted on X.

Mayweather flew to Dubai a few weeks ago and posted several images of his trip but suddenly stopped which is unusual for such a publicity freak.

No alarms were raised after this until rumours that Dubai’s court system caught up with the former welterweight champion. People are now curious about him because he is still using social media regularly without providing his location.

Glaser made these remarks following Tank’s initial disclosure that Mayweather was now a captive.  A fan asked him about the ‘hostage’ claims and Glaser’s reply was more revealing.

“He gotta pay them people that money back..if I’m lying tell him to go live rn,” he replied.

Rick Glaser Floyd Mayweather Relationship

Many people believed that Davis’ assertions that Mayweather was being held in Dubai would have been untrue considering their tense relationship and his caustic remarks about helping the former boxer.

Glaser and Mayweather don’t get along well. Nevertheless, many were taken aback by his remarks against Mayweather on him being in jail in Dubai.

Davis popularly known as ‘Tank’ has used this fiasco to make amends with his former promoter, even though it appears to be a serious situation.

They both have an enviable history as friends and then rivals who don’t see eye to eye. Things took a bad turn when Davis left Mayweather’s promotion firm amid what he said was a lot of tension.

Immediately he replied to a fan about Mayweather’s detention in Dubai, the latter quickly posted a video of Shakur Stevenson. Mayweather accused Davis of being hostile adding that the only way they can solve it is by getting on the ring with him.

He made a separate sarcastic post about helping Mayweather whose net worth stands a little over $400 million.

“They got Floyd a** for real..tell him I’ll send him a wire,” he wrote on X adding that he would also call American rapper 50 Cent and bail out the boxer.

Just like Davis, there is also a rocky past between 50 Cent and Mayweather. The boxer owed him [50 Cent] money for managing Mayweather Promotions while Mayweather was in prison back in the US.

However, the boxer failed to honour his deal when he got out of jail.
