On Saturday, April 27, Paris Saint-Germain failed to win the PSG vs Le Havre match to be crowned 2023-24 Ligue 1 champions.
The Parisians found themselves trailing 3-1 midway through the second half of a match they needed to win to claim another French league title. Despite levelling the scores in stoppage time, Luis Enrique’s side will have to wait until next matchday in Ligue 1 to get another chance of winning the title.

PSG are currently on top of the Ligue 1 table with 70 points, twelve points above second placed Monaco who have 48. Their next league match will be against Toulouse on May 12.
By the time the Ligue 1 giants are crowned champions they will have known their fate in the UEFA Champions League. The Parisians reached the semi-finals last week after taking advantage of ten-man Barcelona to overturn a 3-2 deficit and win 6-4 on aggregate.
PSG play Borussia Dortmund at Signal Iduna Park on Wednesday, May 1, and then host them at Parc des Princes the following week in a match that will determine who proceeds to this season’s Champions League final.
How The PSG Vs Le Havre Game Unfolded
PSG had the perfect opportunity to clinch the League 1 title on Saturday facing Le Havre who are struggling to avoid relegation this season.
Unsurprisingly, they started the game on a high note with Ousmane Dembele causing chaos in Le Havre’s defence several times. After failing to convert their chances, PSG were punished by Le Havre in the 19th minute when Christopher Operi made the visitors first shot on target count. The 24-year-old was just at the right place to direct Emmanuel Sabbi’s pass into the bottom corner.
PSG responded ten minutes later with Bradley Barcola tapping home Warren Zaire-Emery’s cross. Surprisingly, the visitors went in front again shortly before the half-time whistle when Andrew Ayew’s well taken strike beat Keylor Navas at his near post.
With PSG trailing at the break, it was not surprising to see Luis Enrique introduce talisman Kylian Mbappe at the start of the second half. The Parisians pushed for an equalizer hut were left shocked at the hour mark when Abdoulaye Toure increase Le Havre’s lead to 3-1. Toure converted from the spot after a VAR check confirmed that Danilo Pereira had fouled Nego in the box.

Luis Enrique’s side pushed forward in numbers in attempt to reduce the deficit and had their efforts rewarded in the 78th minute when Achraf Hakimi found the back of the net.
Goncalo Ramos, who assisted Hakimi’s goal, had an opportunity to level the scores shortly afterwards but his effort was saved. However, the Portugal international couldn’t be denied again when he came knocking in stoppage time as he headed home Lee Kang-in’s cross.
Whereas the draw ruined PSG’s party celebrations, it got Le Havre out of the relegation playoff spot.
“You must stay focused for the full 90 minutes against the big teams. We didn’t manage to do that, unfortunately. But we can be proud of our performance and of that point earned because that point will count for us at the end of the season.” Le Havre’s Operi said after the match, as per The Washington Post.

Even though Le Havre denied PSG the opportunity to win the Ligue 1 title, the Parisians are definitely going to win the championship next month considering the gap between them and Monaco.
The PSG vs Le Havre was the only Ligue 1 fixture played on Saturday. More action will follow today across various stadiums in France as seven fixtures will be played.
