In the El Clasico, Real Madrid defeated Barcelona 3-2 thanks to a goal from Jude Bellingham in stoppage time.

Before the game had even reached the 20-minute mark, Andreas Christensen gave Barcelona an early lead. However, Vinicius Junior maintained composure to equalize the score with a penalty kick.

The officials’ decision to decide that Lamine Yamal’s attempt had not crossed the line in the 33rd minute was one of the major talking points of the match.

Following Fermin Lopez’s goal to put Barcelona back ahead, Lucas Vazquez’s second goal of the year swiftly closed the gap.

For the second time this season, Bellingham scored a stoppage-time winner against Barcelona as the clock was running down.

With an 11-point lead over their Clasico opponents going into the last six games, Los Blancos’ victory puts Carlo Ancelotti’s team within striking distance of the league crown.

The Calatan giants could not have asked for a greater pick-me-up after their midweek Champions League defeat, seizing the lead early on via Christensen.

As Andriy Lunin of Real Madrid mishandled a deep corner, Christensen was able to score a goal from close range.

When Pau Cubarsi was sent off for fouling Vazquez in the area in the eighteenth minute, Barcelona finally gave Real Madrid the opportunity to tie the score.

Vinicius took the penalty kick and beat Marc-Andre ter Stegen to score his 13th goal of the La Liga campaign.

When Yamal glanced a corner towards goal, Barcelona believed they had seized the lead again after being pushed back by their opponents.

LaLiga lacks goalline technology, therefore the decision of whether Yamal’s attempt crossed the line rested with the VAR room.

To the relief of the hosts and the annoyance of the visitors, the referees chose not to award a goal after many close replays.

As halftime approached, Barcelona was further disappointed to see a clearly distraught Frenkie de Jong being carted out.

The two teams began the second half cautiously after drawing even at the half, but when Barcelona took the lead again in the 69th minute, the game sprang to life again.

After Fermin parried Yamal’s dangerous ball into the area, he scored his fourth goal in the league this season.

As in the first half, three minutes after Fermin had tied the score, Real Madrid mounted a valiant comeback to bring the score back to even.

After Vinicius drove a cross towards the far post, Vazquez calmly finished beyond the defenseless Ter Stegen.

Vinicius appeared to be about to give them the lead after helping his side draw level, but Ter Stegen saved his attempt at the near post.

Real Madrid would have been happy with a point, but Bellingham’s 17th league goal of the year gave them the victory in the end.

In the opening minute of stoppage time, the England international duplicated his goal-scoring performance from the previous match.

In order to secure the victory and condemn Xavi to loss in his final Clasico before departing Barcelona at the end of the season, Bellingham came to the back post to meet Vazquez’s low cross and shoot the ball into the roof of the goal.

Real Madrid is currently in position to win the league championship for the third time in five seasons as a consequence of the victory.

The defending champions, however, will now concentrate on taking second place, with Girona trailing closely behind in third.

Next weekend, Real Madrid will head to San Sebastian to take on Real Sociedad in a difficult match, while on April 29, Barcelona will host Valencia.
