Nick Kyrgios Australian Open winner prediction has set the ball rolling after betting on Stefanos Tsitsipas to win the tournament.
Tsitsipas, on the other hand, feels that Novak Djokovic is his biggest opponent but he is confident he can beat this time around.
The Greek is well into his third round of the Australian Open and he is ready to show Djokovic that he, too, can pull a good one in the first Grand Slam of the year.
He proceeded to the third round by clinching four-set victories against Zizou Bergs and Jordan Thompson in his first two matches.
Despite making it to two Grand Slam finals, Tsitsipas experienced defeats at the hands of Djokovic in both the 2021 French Open and the 2023 Australian Open championship matches.
Tsitsipas led by two sets at the French Open final before Djokovic, orchestrated a remarkable comeback. The 25-year-old thereafter suffered a defeat in three closely contested sets at the Melbourne Grand Slam last year.
Despite his outstanding performance at the Australian Open in 2023, Tsitsipas experienced a somewhat underwhelming season by his lofty standards in 2023.

This year, he feels he is better shape to take on Djokovic and win his maiden slam. Subsequently, having achieved a 78% win rate in previous editions, the Australian Open stands as Tsitsipas’ most successful Grand Slam event, with at least semi-final appearances in four of the last five years.
With these stats, Kyrgios made a bold prediction, foreseeing Tsitsipas making his major breakthrough at the 2024 Australian Open.
“I think Tsitsipas wins the Aus Open,” Kyrgios posted.

After his hard-earned triumph in the second round against Thompson on Wednesday, Tsitsipas had an interesting conversation with John McEnroe.
McEnroe asked him what it would require to secure victory in the event, especially considering his close calls in the past.
He said that Djokovic has won the first Grand Slam of the year 10 times which he considers ‘selfish’. However, the 2024 tournament will means someone must break his winning streak and most probably it will be him [Tsitsipas].
“There are two scenarios: whether someone has to beat Novak that isn’t me, or it has to be me. We will have to find a way, either way,” he stated.
The world No 7 is facing off with Luca van Assche who is world No 79. He knows that Assche is an incredible player.
He played with him during practice and despite his minimal height, his baseline game is commendable. Assche has powerful shots enough to challenge the big names in the game.
“From what I remember, on the range of, let’s say, shorter players that he can really do damage by getting balls back and making play, I need to be consistent and stay strong with him, and the rest will have to be shown on the court,” he said in his on-court interview.
He could meet Djokovic in the quarterfinals of the tournament if he wins the third round match.

Will Novak Djokovic Win Australian Open 2024?
Meanwhile, Djokovic opened up on health issues affecting his performance in Melbourne despite making it to the third round of the tournament.
The defending champion, Djokovic, faced another close call for the second consecutive match but managed to advance.
Following the longest first-round match of his grand slam career on Sunday, Djokovic had to fend off four set points on his serve to prevent trailing 2-1 against Australia’s Alexei Popyrin on Rod Laver Arena.
In the end, he won the third set in a tie-break. He seemed invigorated in the fourth set of the match by an exchange of words with a spectator on his way to securing a 6-3, 4-6, 7-6 (4), 6-3 victory.
