Career
Cedric Soares began playing football as a small boy and joined Sporting CP’s youth system at the age of seven. He spent twelve years playing for the club’s various youth teams before making his Primeira Liga debut on 8 May 2011. He started the match as Sporting suffered a 1-0 loss against Vitoria de Setubal.
Sporting loaned Cedric to fellow top division club Academica for the 2011-12 season. At Academica, Cedric got regular playing time and won that season’s Taca de Portugal playing the full 90 minutes against his boyhood club Sporting.
