Wolves beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 on Saturday at Molineux Stadium, thanks to stoppage time goals from Pablo Sarabia and Mario Lemine. Wolves clinched all three points in dramatic fashion as they extended their unbeaten H2H run to four gamers in the process.
Tottenham Hotspur came into the match after a stunning 4-1 defeat at home to Chelsea on Monday. The damage at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium was the first real setback for manager Ange Postecoglou, and things only got worse against Wolves.

Spurs raced ahead inside three minutes thanks to Brennan Johnson’s first goal for the club. It looked like the visitors were walking away with three points before things suddenly changed in stoppage time. Speaking after the match, Wolves manager Gary O’Neil said he was impressed with his side’s performance.
“I was very proud of the group anyway – just the performance and the understanding of what we were trying to do. We started very slowly but the reaction was very good… It was probably the most proud of a group that I’ve coached today, to produce what they produced against a top side. It’s easy for me to put stuff on the tactics board but for us to find the solutions is a credit to the group.” Sky Sports quotes Wolves manager Gary O’Neil.
How Wolves Beat Tottenham Hotspur
Wolves’ result in the past matches have been mixed, but they had recorded victory against Manchester City and drew with Newcastle United. Ange Postecoglou was forced into four changes ahead of Wolves’ clash, thanks to the suspensions of Destiny Udogie and Cristian Romero, and injuries to Micky van de Ven and James Maddison.
It looked as though the absences of those key players wouldn’t affect Spurs against Wolves as they raced ahead inside three minutes. It was Brennan Johnson who tapped in Pedro Porro’s low cross to record his first goal for the club.
Wolves responded well to the set-back, creating numerous chances. However, their forwards were not clinical enough to punish Spurs who recorded their next shot on target 40 minutes after opening the scoring.
Jean-Ricner Bellegarde had two chances from 25 yards but fired over the bar, while Matheus Cunha and Hwang Hee-chan also failed to convert.

Pablo Sarabia’s introduction from the bench in the 87th minute changed the game, with the Spanish winger scoring a fantastic goal just four minutes later. He brilliantly controlled Cunha’s strongly-hit pass before volleying the ball into the top corner.
The former Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) man then set up Lemina for the winner in the 97th minute. The dramatic ending helped Wolves bounce back from last week’s defeat by Sheffield United. With the Premier League pausing for the international break, Spurs have the opportunity to recollect themselves and bounce back stronger.
