Career
Dennis Oliech began his football journey in Nairobi playing for Dagoretti Santos. He then went through Mathare United’s youth set-up where he continued to develop. While at Mathare, he went on trial with French side Marseille and passed. However, the move was blocked from happening by Mathare chairman Bob Munro.
Dennis Oliech turned professional in 2003 and had a short spell with Mathare United’s senior team before joining Qatari club Al-Arabi. During his time in Qatar, he was playing under a different middle-east name.
The Guardian newspaper named Oliech alongside the likes of future Manchester United stars Wayne Rooney and Robin Van Persie in a list of world’s most promising young footballers. As a result, the Qatari government offered him a chance to change his citizenship from Kenyan to Qatari. Oliech, who was 19 at the time, rejected the offer.

In 2005, Dennis Oliech joined French club Nantes on a four-year deal. This was after Al-Arabi had turned down sh 100 million offer from Monaco. Oliech spent one season at Nantes then continued his career at Auxerre and later Ajaccio.
On 21 April 2015, Oliech secured a transfer to Dubai CSC. He returned to the Kenyan Premier League in 2019 and signed with Gor Mahia. He announced his official retirement from professional football in January 2020.
