There is nothing more fascinating to tennis fans than a match between Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic but the Spaniard says he fears playing against Jannik Sinner and Daniil Medvedev more.
While Djokovic is a reigning 24-time Grand Slam champion, Alcaraz has no fear of playing against him when the opportunity arises. Alcaraz faced off with Djokovic for the first time this year at the French Open semi-final but lost.
Despite Djokovic’s reputation as a fierce tennis player, Medvedev and Sinner give Alcaraz nightmares whenever he is facing off with them on the court.
Medvedev pulled off a stunning upset against Alcaraz in the semi-finals of the US Open, unveiling a winning formula to conquer the Spaniard and dashing tennis fans’ hopes of witnessing another Djokovic vs. Alcaraz final.

Djokovic’s last week’s defeat to Sinner at the China Open was even more concerning as he suffered a convincing loss in the second set, scoring 6-1. This setback allowed Sinner to establish a lead in their head-to-head encounters, now holding a 4-3 advantage.
Alcaraz has now shared his thoughts on the challenges posed by both Medvedev and Sinner, expressing anticipation for facing them both at the upcoming Shanghai Masters.
He said that “it is scary” facing Sinner and Medvedev even as he forges his dream to the ATP 1000 event. However, it is a challenge he feels is up to the task to and is ready to give it his all.
“I like that kind of challenge. I’m really wanting that. I want to play my best level to find the final and probably face them,” Tennis365 reports.
Alcaraz has acknowledged his recent loss to Sinner in Beijing and is determined to make amends if he faces the Italian in Shanghai.
He discussed his plans with his coach Juan Carlos Ferrero to identify areas for improvement. Alcaraz intends to thoroughly analyze their previous match and make necessary adjustments to perform better in the upcoming tournament.
Despite having limited practice time, he is confident in his readiness to rectify his mistakes from the Beijing encounter.

Alcaraz also highlighted the competitive nature of his rivalry with Sinner, emphasizing his strong desire not to lose any match and his commitment to learning from every match they play against each other.
He is looking at it all like the old-day tennis rivalry between Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer.
None of these players ever wanted to lose a match which made it so thrilling and it’s the same spirit Alcaraz now has
