Inter Milan has acquired Yann Sommer from Bayern Munich, who is the preferred goalie for the Swiss national football team. Despite the fact that the contract and transfer fee’s specifics have not been made public, sources in the Italian media cite Inter as having paid about six million euros for Sommer’s services.

As a temporary stand-in for injured Bundesliga champion Manuel Neuer, Sommer, 34, joined Bayern Munich in January. Inter Milan praised Sommer’s experience, leadership, and passion, saying that he was a goalie by nature. Sommer is now prepared to provide these qualities to the Nerazzurri squad.

After losing Andre Onana to Manchester United in July for a reported 51 million euros ($56.13 million), Inter Milan, then coached by Simone Inzaghi, were in need of goalkeepers. Ionut Radu from Romania was last month loaned to AFC Bournemouth in addition to the release of Samir Handanovic and Alex Cordaz.

Jan-Christian Dreesen, the CEO of Bayern, expressed his support and understanding for Sommer’s choice to seek out a new challenge at Inter Milan, where he hopes to establish a long-term position as the team’s starting goalkeeper. Dreesen expressed his gratitude to Sommer for his dedication and support during Neuer’s catastrophic injury.

Sommer, who transferred from Borussia Monchengladbach to Bayern, helped Bayern win its 33rd league championship this season. Prior to his stint in the Bundesliga, Sommer led FC Basel to four straight Swiss Super League victories from 2010 to 2011. Sommer has played for Switzerland in more than 80 games since making his debut in a friendly match against Romania in May 2012.

Tottenham reject Bayern’s final bid for Kane

Tottenham Hotspur have rejected Bayern Munich’s latest and ‘final’ offer for star England striker Harry Kane. Bayern Munich’s interest in signing Kane sparked transfer speculations more than a month ago.

The 30-year-old striker received a record-breaking proposal from the German champions that exceeded $100 million (£100m). Tottenham was under pressure to decide by Friday, August 5, 2023, at midnight thanks to a deadline attached to this offer. The clubs met in London to discuss the captain of England, but their valuations remained around 25 million ($32 million; â29.2 million) apart. Bayern Munich’s third proposal was rejected, leaving them with the choice of continuing their chase or moving on to other targets.

Bayern wanted to sign the English captain, but it’s clear that the two sides still have different opinions on what the 30-year-old star is worth. The German champions had hinted that they would shift their attention to other prospective moves if their bid to get Kane this time failed.

It’s unclear whether they will really take such measure, though, considering there are still more than three weeks left in the transfer window. Kane led the club in their preseason game against Shakhtar Donetsk on Sunday. Kane has 280 goals in 435 appearances for Tottenham in a variety of competitions.
