Kylian Mbappe has been the name round in this year’s summer transfer.
The first time was when news broke that he planned to quit PSG at the conclusion of the 2023–24 season and avoid having his existing contract extended for another year, sending the media into a frenzy.
Due to their extreme rage over this, PSG gave the superstar the boot and made the decision to fully cut him out of their lineup for the Asian tour.
Second, Al-Hilal, a powerhouse in the Saudi Pro League, made a record-breaking offer for the French superstar this month. PSG was said to have accepted the offer, and the Saudi club was prepared to speak.
On July 26, word broke that the France captain had allegedly turned down the offer and a chance to speak with Al-Hilal representatives about a transfer.

Mbappe’s lack of interest in accepting the rich $333 million offer from Al-Hilal is not entirely unexpected despite receiving the offer. Many celebrities have moved to Saudi Arabia for financial reasons, but Mbappe is obviously dreaming of being successful in Europe.
Mbappe’s long-standing ambition to play for Real Madrid was a major factor in his decision to reject the Saudi offer. The fact that the Spanish powerhouses were openly courting the French superstar before Mbappe opted to remain with PSG before the 2022–23 season is not a secret.
Relationships between Real Madrid and PSG were strained as a result, and it appeared that Los Blancos would never again be interested in signing the French star.
Mbappe’s unwillingness to agree to a new contract, though, gave the rumors fresh life. PSG is in a challenging situation as a result of this. They are anxious to prevent losing him for free after investing 180 million euros on his signing. Mbappe’s commitment to realizing his ambition of playing at Real Madrid, though, is strong. According to reports, he has already reached an agreement to join Real Madrid in the summer of 2019.
Still young in his career
The second reason is that Mbappe is a player who still has a lot to learn despite the wealth that Saudi Arabian clubs possess and the entrance of major players.
With the exception of Ruben Neves, most of the players that moved to Saudi Arabia were nearing or having reached the top of their careers.
Even though Al-Hilal offered an incredible offer to sign the Argentine Superstar, Lionel Messi—who has had a wonderful start in the MLS—decided to stay put.
Although Cristiano Ronaldo indicated that the league was on the rise, a lot more work has to be done to raise the Saudi Pro League’s level of play and make it a significant draw for future talent.
After spending a year in the Middle East, Mbappe would likely find it challenging to adjust to the high-tempo style of football played in Europe, which is far superior in terms of quality to that of the Saudi Pro League.

Mbappe has a World Cup championship medal in his cabinet, but he hasn’t been successful in the UEFA Champions League. Lifting the UCL will be a top aim for the superstar, however, it is unclear if he will do so this season.
The issue surrounding Mbappe’s future is anticipated to drag out throughout the whole summer transfer window and may even extend into the following season.
It looks that no amount of money can tempt Mbappe away from his ambition of playing on the continent and a major move to the shores of Madrid, even though the drama in Europe is likely to play out.
What next for Mbappe?
Mbappe has already been excluded by PSG from the team that is presently on a preseason trip. The same treatment will continue over the first few weeks of the season if he is still with the team once the transfer window closes.
On September 1, however, Mbappe will have the opportunity to sue PSG if he is not included in the team owing to claimed “contract breaches.” The French Footballers’ Union, which refers to the circumstance as “moral harassment,” has also threatened legal action against the club.
