Since their summer exodus, the Blues have been connected with the Brighton player as they aim to bolster their midfield.

The only senior midfielders left at Chelsea are Enzo Fernandez and Conor Gallagher, who is also drawing transfer attention. N’Golo Kante, Kai Havertz, Mason Mount, and Mateo Kovacic have all been let to depart this summer.

Moises Caicedo has indicated an interest in joining Chelsea, and Brighton has previously rejected a £70 million proposal from the West London club.

The Stamford Bridge team is said to have increased their offer after Sky Sports’ report on Wednesday that Chelsea was exploring its options for the Ecuadorian’s future transfer.

Fabrizio Romano claims that over the previous 24 hours, Chelsea made an improved offer of £80 million for the 21-year-old midfielder, but Brighton “immediately rejected” that offer.

According to reports, Caicedo is valued similarly by Brighton to Declan Rice, who earlier this summer moved from West Ham to Arsenal for £105 million.

Romano claims that although there is “no agreement at this stage,” talks between the two teams are still proceeding.

The Ecuadorian international was a target for Chelsea in January, while Arsenal had two offers turned down. After the winter transfer window closed, Caicedo ultimately agreed to a new contract with Brighton.

Liverpool continues their chase for Lavia

Liverpool will increase their offer for Romeo Lavia after their initial offer was rejected.

Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai are the two midfielders that Liverpool has previously made bids to acquire this summer, but Saudi interest in Jordan Henderson and Fabinho appears to be forcing Jurgen Klopp to re-enter the market.

Although a contract has not yet been publicly confirmed, Henderson has already begun training with Steven Gerrard’s Al-Ettifaq, and Fabinho has been connected to Al Ittihad.

The Reds have been connected with a number of prospective midfield targets recently, including Kalvin Phillips of Man City, Cheick Doucoure of Crystal Palace, Sofyan Amrabat of Fiorentina, and Ryan Gravenberch of Bayern Munich. However, it looks like Southampton’s Lavia is their top desire.

On Tuesday, Liverpool submitted a £37 million proposal for the gifted adolescent, but the Championship club reportedly is holding out for a £50 million offer.

Reports that the Merseyside club is prepared to make an increased bid for the 19-year-old midfielder without further delay and that “there is now a growing possibility of a deal being reached.”

Lavia performed admirably in his first season on the South Coast, despite the Saints’ relegation from the Premier League, despite only making 29 appearances in a season marred by injuries.
