THE LAMPARD DILEMMA

This Sunday, when Newcastle travels to Stamford Bridge, Chelsea’s disastrous season will come to an end. Newcastle defeated the wealthy Blues to earn a spot in the Champions League.
A season in which Chelsea had four different head coaches and finished in the bottom half of the Premier League for the first time since 1995/96 will be welcomed by the club’s supporters.
Without a doubt, Chelsea will recover, and the team has the quality and resources to turn this season into an outlier. But what about the manager at the moment? Although he eagerly accepted the opportunity to rejoin the team temporarily, Frank Lampard has been unable to have any kind of influence at Stamford Bridge.
Has Lampard irrevocably ruined his reputation in an effort to repair the ship that is sunk after a rough time at Everton?
The 44-year-old undoubtedly has lofty managerial aspirations, but it’s difficult to envision a top-tier position materializing anytime soon. Lampard’s coaching career hasn’t gone as planned thus far, therefore a stunning reconstruction is necessary.
CAN EVERTON SURVIVE THE DROP?

Despite the fact that Everton hasn’t been relegated from the premier league since 1951, the Toffees have faced the last-chance scenario before.
Everton’s legendary epic escapes from peril in 1994 and 1998, when the team defied the odds to escape on tense final days, are the stuff of folklore. This time, the challenge is easier, and Sean Dyche’s team’s future is largely in their own hands.
If Everton defeats Bournemouth this weekend, their lengthy, undefeated streak of premier league play will continue. On paper, Everton looks to have a favorable matchup against a Cherries club that is safe from the bottom, but there are problems for Dyche.
Dominic CalvertLewin’s most recent injury is a fatal blow to their chances of surviving, and Everton must overcome a dismal recent record against Bournemouth. Everton has only won one of the previous seven games with the Cherries and has lost the past four, including two already this season.
LEICESTER CAN ONLY HOPE
Due to a valiant goalless draw against Newcastle in the middle of the week, Leicester’s fate is now out of their own hands and they must hope that Everton loses points if they are to have any chance of avoiding relegation.
At St. James’ Park, Dean Smith decided to play things safe, using a five-man backline and benching Harvey Barnes and James Maddison. The outcome was a clean sheet, which hadn’t happened since November, but Leicester didn’t pose much of a danger and didn’t manage a shot until the very last seconds.
To have any hope of surviving, Leicester must defeat West Ham this Saturday, and Smith must choose a risky lineup at the King Power Stadium.
Only seven seasons after being named Premier League champions, the Foxes have won just one of their past 15 games and are in danger of being relegated. They face a West Ham team that may be distracted by the forthcoming European final, Smith must take a chance and use his best-attacking ability.
TEN HAG NEEDS SIGNINGS TO CHALLENGE FOR THE TITLE

After securing a top-four position with one game remaining, Erik ten Hag referred to Manchester United’s qualifying for the Champions League as a “important step.”
The Dutchman, who broke the team’s six-year trophy drought with the League Cup victory and has the opportunity to add the FA Cup when the Red Devils face Manchester City in the final on June 3, continues to have a promising debut season.
The summer transfer window, which will be essential to the team’s aspirations of contending next season, will soon come to the forefront of everyone’s thoughts.
Additional reinforcements are needed in crucial areas, not the least of which is the signing of a center-forward. With Anthony Martial and Wout Weghorst’s lackluster displays and United’s reliance on Marcus Rashford for goals, the demand for a reliable number nine has grown.
The type of addition that may turn this club into a true power is Harry Kane, who is still being linked to the team.
