Career
Regis Prograis began his boxing training in 2005 after relocating to Houston, Texas. He used to train at Savannah Boxing Club alongside the legendary Evander Holyfield. As an amateur, Regis went on to build a record of 87-7. He was ranked 4th in the United States among the best young boxers.
Regis was the 2009 Ringside World Champion and the 2010 HORN National Championship. He competed in the 2012 Olympic Trials and turned professional later that year.
In his first professional fight, Regis knocked out Carl Almirol via knockout on 28 April 2012 at the Royal Palace, Houston, Texas. He won all of his first four fights via KO. Three years after turning professional, Regis defeated Abel Ramos at Bayou City Event Center, Houston to win the vacant WBC-NABF Junior light welterweight title. It was his first boxing title and he won it on his 16th professional fight.

Regis’ next opponent was Aaron Herrera, who he defeated via KO. He then defeated Luis Eduardo Florez via TKO on 25 June 2016, to win the vacant WBC-NABF light welterweight title. He successfully defended the title in his next two fights before winning the vacant WBC interim light welterweight title.
On 26 October 2019, Regis Prograis suffered his first professional loss while fighting Josh Taylor at The 02 Arena in London. Due to the defeat, he lost his WBA light welterweight title, which he had won six months earlier after knocking out Kiryl Relikh.
On 26 November 2022, Regis defeated Jose Zepeda at Dignity Health Sports Park in California to win the vacant WBC light welterweight title. He is yet to defend his title and his boxing record currently stands at 28-1 (24 KO wins).
