Personal Life
Chukwueze was born on May 22 1999 in the Umuahia area of Abia State. He is the first born in a family of three children, two boys and one girl.
Chukwueze has Igbo roots and grew up in a family of a middle-class with very strong Christian morals.
At eight years, he was already playing football and Jay Okocha was his source of inspiration in his childhood. He could watch the television to see his role model Okocha display his skills and this motivated him more.
His family was to see him progress in education while he proved them wrong by attending practice lessons, something his parents did not like. To discourage him further, they set up fire on his training boots and training kit to drive their point home.
It was heart breaking for him but his love for football and need to constantly improve won at the end, even contacting football academies willing to take him in.
His dating history is very plain as he has not been seen or heard dating anyone, maybe he wants to give attention to his career.
Career
At eight years, Chukwueze joined the Future Academy and became part of the under 8s and 10s, then to New Generation Academy which ended when he joined Diamond football League.
At Diamond, this is where he completed his transformation into a skilled winger, taking him abroad to the Portuguese Iber Youth Cup where he emerged the highest goal scorer, catching the eye of scouts in Europe.
Chukwueze’s major breakthrough came during the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup that was held in Chile, where he played for the Nigeria U-17 team alongside teammates Kelechi Nwakali and Victor Osimehin.
He scored severally making crucial assists and won the U-17 world Cup, finishing the tournament as the third-highest scorer and he also won the Bronze Boot.
With showcasing his talent, big European clubs started showing interest in him but he joined their Youth sides with Villareal CF offering him the best deal.

It was not a walk in the park for the young star at the Club as he struggled to understand the Spanish Language and culture. That did not hinder his performance at the Club and he got along very well.
Chukwueze played for his national team Nigeria at the U-17 level then received a call up to the senior team, playing in his first debut match against Uganda which ended in a draw.
Chukwueze was also invited to represent the Nigeria senior team at the Africa Cup of Nations for the U-20 team, at the U20 World Cup.
Villareal’s decision was that he could only play in one of the tournaments and he opted to take part with Nigeria’s senior squad for the Africa cup of Nations that was hosted in Egypt.
Chukwueze has won several titles among them, the Nigerian Football Federation’s 2018 Young player of the Year award.
At Villareal, he helped the club progress to the semi-finals of the tournament.
