Paul Heyman was born on 11 September 1965 to Sulamita and Richard S. Heyman in New York, United States. By the time he was 11, Heyman was already running a mail order business selling celebrity and sports memorabilia. He later fast-talked his way backstage at a World Wide Wrestling Federation (WWWF) event as a photojournalist and got paid for his work.

Heyman attended Edgemont High School and graduated before joining SUNY Purchase. In 1985, the future wrestling manager began working as a photographer, then a producer and promoter for the New York City nightclub Studio 54.

Career
