FKF Premier League defending champions Tusker FC have signed left back Levin Odhiambo from Mathare United and forward Mike Oduor from KCB as they look to firm up their squad to retain their crown.
The two have both signed two year contracts with the reigning champions.
Odhiambo’s arrival will be particularly crucial for the brewers as they were without a natural left back. Boniface ‘Kajos’ Onyango is out until at least May after undergoing knee surgery while Isaac Kipyegon has been suspended since January over a match fixing case during his time at Zoo Kericho.
The brewers have been forced to use makeshift left backs with Daniel Sakari and Jimmy Mbugua shuffling between the role but now, they are relieved to have found a natural replacement.
“We were struggling in that position because when you don’t have a player with a natural left foot, it becomes a bit difficult. He (Levin) has trained with us and we are delighted with what he has shown and I know he will be an important player for us,” said head coach Robert Matano.

He added; “Mike is also a good young player with lots of potential and he will boost our forward line as we look to get more goals.”
Their signing brings to three the number of new players brought in during the mid-season transfer window, the club having erstwhile signed Michael Kibwage.
Odhiambo says he is delighted to have completed the move to Tusker and is looking forward to help them retain the title.
He has previously played for Wazito FC and moved to Mathare at the start of the season where he had been an integral part of their revival towards the end of the first leg.
“It has always been my wish and dream to play for a big club and I am excited to join Tusker FC. This is a club with ambition and I am looking forward to grow here,” Odhiambo said.

He added; “The coach had spoken to me and told me he wanted me to be part of the team and after looking at what it meant to me, it wasn’t hard to make the decision.”
Meanwhile, Oduor will provide options in attack, having arrived from KCB. He had been a regular with the bankers, but decided to look for a bigger platform, hence the decision to join Tusker FC.
Just like Odhiambo, he hopes he can help them battle for the title.
“I didn’t think twice about signing for Tusker and I am delighted with how things have gone so far. I have trained well with them and I feel at home. For the remainder of the season, my target is to score at least seven goals and have 10 assists to enable the team retain the title,” noted the winger.
The two will be in line for their debuts when Tusker play Bidco United in a midweek duel on Wednesday.
