Potential managers to replace Antonio Conte at Tottenham Hotspur

When the 2023–24 season kicks off, Antonio Conte will no longer be in charge of Tottenham Hotspur.

The way Spurs were eliminated from the Champions League by AC Milan left a lot to be desired. Despite trailing 1-0 from the first leg, Spurs played sluggishly and never really threatened their opponents on offence, allowing the Rossoneri to advance to the next round with a scoreless stalemate.

After the game, when asked about his future, Conte replied, “At the end of the season, we’ll convene and then decide. We’ll see how the season pans out as my contract is coming to a close.

The Italian’s contract with the team expires at the end of this season, and it appears unlikely that he will sign a new one, particularly since he might not even want one. So, whether it happens at the conclusion of the season or even sooner, who might succeed the former Inter coach?

Here are some of the most reliable names being mentioned in connection with the Tottenham position.

Thomas Tuchel

Thomas Tuchel. Since being fired by Chelsea in favour of Graham Potter, the German coach has been looking for work.

Tuchel’s reputation has increased while he has been unemployed as a result of Chelsea’s success under Potter, and he is presently thought to be the best coach who is unemployed. He might not be a long-term solution, but he would help Spurs in the short run and could help the team win the domestic cup.

A coach who recently led Chelsea to the Champions League finals must also woo the Spurs faithful. With PSG, he has also advanced to the competition’s final, and there is an indication that he might help Spurs advance further than they have in the past.

Mauricio Pochettino

The guy who has consistently been close to greatness. He won the hearts of the majority of Spurs supporters by leading them to the Champions League final, where they lost to Liverpool, the superior team.

Since his tenure at Paris Saint-Germain did not go as expected, he has been available. Although he has a close bond with important team members like Harry Kane, it is unclear what would be different from his previous tenure at the club.

The squad is not particularly better, and the hierarchy still seems to be in disarray, just as it did during Pochettino’s first tenure there. It’s possible that this appointment is motivated more by nostalgia than by desire.

Roberto De Zerbi

Brighton would suffer because of this. When Potter unexpectedly left for Chelsea this season, Roberto De Zerbi was able to step in and improve the squad with his coaching.

That is why he is regarded as the wise option by so many Spurs supporters. There are players in that squad who would be a good match at Tottenham, and he has established himself in the Premier League, albeit over a brief period of time. Solly March and Moises Caicedo have both been mentioned, but promising Irish striker Evan Ferguson and Japanese winger Kaoru Mitoma have also been mentioned.

Thomas Frank

This appointment would adhere to a philosophy very close to De Zerbi’s. In his five years in charge, the Danish coach has done a fantastic job at Brentford, and this may be the time when he chooses to move on. Given that he is competing with the Bees for a spot in Europe, it most definitely wouldn’t be until the conclusion of the season.

He has demonstrated his project management skills, so he may need some time to settle in at first, but there is cause to think he might be capable of doing the work.

Ange Postecoglou of Celtic, who has done well since taking over, is one of a few other names that have been mentioned in connection with the position. He seems like the kind of person who could manage the job.

Other names being mentioned include Christophe Galtier of PSG, Massimiliano Allegri of Juventus, Graham Potter of Chelsea, and Vincent Kompany of Burnley; however, if they are still employed at the moment, they will need to have their contracts produced.
