In response to Argentina’s victory against France in the 2022 World Cup final on penalties, FIFA has declared that it is investigating the team’s conduct.
The world governing body has “started proceedings” against the Albiceleste because they may have broken a few rules of the FIFA disciplinary code during and after the championship game, namely rules on fairplay and player misconduct.
With Lionel Messi scoring an incredible goal and showcasing his footwork in his first game back for PSG, Argentina’s World Cup hero Emiliano Martinez has maintained his excellent form with a superb point-blank save against Leeds.
“The FIFA Disciplinary Committee has opened proceedings against the Argentinian Football Association due to potential breaches of articles 11 (Offensive behaviour and violations of the principles of fair play) and 12 (Misconduct of players and officials) of the FIFA Disciplinary Code, as well as of article 44 of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Regulations in conjunction with the Media and Marketing Regulations for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™, during the Argentina v. France FIFA World Cup final,” the FIFA statement read.

As soon as Argentina won their third championship, videos of the team’s celebrations went viral, with photos of Martinez receiving the Golden Glove award sparking a fierce debate.
Despite Kylian Mbappe of PSG scoring a hat-trick and making his penalty kick in the shootout, the Aston Villa goalie was seen appearing to ridicule the defeated forward on many occasions.
After the game, he requested a moment of silence in the locker room to remember Mbappe. He was also seen cradling a doll baby with the striker’s face glued on.
Referee Szymon Marciniak issued yellow cards to five Argentina players. Martinez received one during the crucial shootout after he was spotted dancing following French misses and flinging the ball away before penalties.
After Messi and company won the coveted cup, the celebration continued for several days as the team flew back to Buenos Aires where four million delighted Argentine supporters greeted them.
The Argentina Football Association may be required to pay a sizable fee if the Albiceleste decides to enter a guilty plea to any accusations that may be brought against them.
However, the victorious team was not the only one to get FIFA’s attention; Serbia and Ecuador also received sanctions, including partial stadium closures, for breaking the conduct code and the discrimination clause.

Due to racist shouts, Mexico was fined 100,000 Swiss Francs and ordered to play one game behind closed doors. FIFA also began proceedings against Croatia for possible misconduct and gross behaviour violations.
In other news still on Croatia, Ivana Knoll, a German-born designer and model from Croatia stole the show in Qatar World Cup.
Even after a resounding 3-0 defeat by Argentina in the semi-finals, it’s hard to forget about this damsel who sent shockwaves in this Arabian country.
She uploaded two images of herself wearing a thong bikini with a Croatian influence before the competition, claiming they were taken on a beach in Qatar.
