The 34-year-old is the only female boxer in history to win world titles in over four weight classes. She has held nine major world titles across seven different weight classes.

Amanda has won the Female Boxer of the Year award twice since becoming a professional. 

Besides being a boxer, Amanda is also a professional wrestler and a mixed martial arts expert. However, she is yet to make her professional wrestling debut.

Early Life 

Amanda Serrano biography has it that she was born in the municipality of Carolina on October 9, 1988. 

Amanda and her family moved to New York when she was still young and settled in a large Puerto Rican diaspora. 

Growing up, Amanda had a distinct passion for swimming. She started boxing at the age of 12 in the gym of her brother-in-law. 

She first went to the gym alongside her sister Cindy, who just wanted to lose weight. Cindy also became a professional boxer. 

After graduating from high school at the age of 17, Amanda began training so as to buy things and bond with her sister. 

Soon she began fighting and boasts an amateur record of 9-1. She was the winner of the 2008 Staten Island amateur championship. 

Career 

The heart of Amanda Serrano biography is her boxing career. Her first title after becoming a professional was the NABF Featherweight championship, which she captured after defeating Jennifer Scott on June 11, 2011. 

In April 2012, Amanda lost to Frida Wallberg in a controversial unanimous decision. The two were fighting for the WBC Featherweight Championship. 

Eight months later, Amanda won the UBF Intercontinental female super featherweight title after defeating Lina Tejada. 

She won the UBF female and WIBA featherweight titles in February 2013 after knocking out Wanda Pena Ozuna. 

The Puerto Rican boxer won three more fights before facing Maria Elena Maderna for the WBO female lightweight title. She defeated Maria via knockout on August 15, 2014. 

In February 2016, Amanda defeated Olivia Gerula in New York to win the WBO female featherweight title. 

In October 2016, she demolished Alexandra Lazar in 44 seconds to capture the WBO junior featherweight title. She won WBAN’s 2016 Fighter of the Year 2016. 

Amanda Serrano won the vacant WBAN junior featherweight title and retained her WBO female junior featherweight title after defeating Yazmin Rivas on January 14, 2017. 

She defeated Dahiana Santana in April 2017 to win the WBO female bantamweight title. She claimed the WBO female light-welterweight title in September 2018 after defeating Yamila Esther Reynoso. 

In January 2019, Amanda won the vacant WBO female junior bantamweight title after defeating Eva Voraberger. Before the end of 2019, she also claimed WBO, WBC interim and vacant WBAN featherweight titles.

On March 25, 2021, Amanda knocked out Daniela Romina Bermudez to defend her WBC and WBO female titles and win the IBO female featherweight title. 

Her latest fight was against Sarah Mahfoud on September 24, 2022. She unified the IBF, WBO and WBC featherweight titles.
