On the other hand, Boston Celtics faced the Warriors while on top of the Eastern Conference Atlantic division.
The Golden State Warriors’ head coach Steve Kerr opted to insert Jordan Poole in the starting lineup as Andrew Wiggins was out defensively.
Many fans wanted Steve Kerr to give the opportunity to Jonathan Kuminga due to his superior size and defensive ability.
However, Jordan Poole rose to the occasion and ended up impressing everyone with his performance. He played a significant role in the victory.
Klay Thompson was the lone Warriors scorer to get off to a hot start. He scored 12 points in the first nine minutes of regulation, 24 in the first half and eventually finished the game with 34.
The Warriors were leading 33-25 at the end of the first quarter, thanks to Steph Curry knocking down a pair of deep threes.
The Warriors’ lead extended to double digits after Poole found an offensive spark leading the second unit. Bolton Celtics lacked the firepower to keep up with Golden State, who eventually emerged victorious.
Speaking after the win, Warriors forward Draymond Green said, “We just played these guys in the NBA Finals; you don’t want to send a message.”
Steve Kerr’s side will be out of action for a few days before travelling east to play the Bucks on Tuesday.
Brooklyn Nets Defeat the Indiana Pacers
Elsewhere, the Brooklyn Nets closed the gap on the Boston Celtics after defeating the Indiana Pacers 136-133 in Indianapolis.
Cam Thomas’ career-high 33 points and Patty Mills 24 points helped the Nets come from nine points down to emerge victorious despite missing Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. Durant and Irving are injured.
Other Brooklyn Nets’ top players who missed the fixture were Ben Simmons, Royce O’Neale, Joe Harris and Nic Claxton.
The Nets grabbed 29 offensive rebounds against the Indiana Pacers, which is the most by any team in a game this season.

At the end of the match, there was a lot of happy talk from the owner of the Nets to the coach and the players.
“There was no hesitation, we came here to win. When you believe you can win the game, it goes a long way.” Brooklyn Nets Jacque Vaughn said, as per ESPN.
The victory over the Indiana Pacers was the Nets’ third straight win after losing to the Celtics last weekend. The Nets will continue with their road trip on Monday as they face the Wizards.
