DID PHIL FODEN GET A NECK TATTOO?

Many City fans are curious about the neck tattoo Phil Foden has. It signifies his football journey.  Foden’s performance for Manchester City in the Premier League and Champions League this season is nothing short of spectacular.

Coupled with his ever-blazing tackles, his fans can’t stop raving about the neck and its relevance. Whenever City wheels away in celebration after scoring spectators are treated to a close-up of the tattoo design.

Foden has the phrase “Sky is the limit” tattooed on his neck. The tattoo on the left side of his neck begins below his ear and ends at the shirt line.

The 22-year-old has four Premier League titles to his name and helped England win the 2017 Under-17 World Cup. The tattoo is symbolic of all his victories so far in football and he plans on having more as long as he remains in the pitch.

WHY DOES PHIL FODEN WEAR 47?

Number 47 is a stir for Phil Foden and it’s not just a shirt which he wears to his matches. The Manchester City star loves this shirt reason it is a memento of his late grandfather Ronnie who passed away at age 47.

For his love, he named his son Ronnie. Besides, number 47 symbolizes the number of goals the England international has for Etihad, a club he grew up loving.  He sticks with this number since replacing Yaya Toure at City in 2017.

He had No 47 inscribed on his head as a hairstyle during a champions league match with Borussia Dortmund.

He shares the name ‘Ronnie’ with his son after his nanny recommended it. Ronnie, is now three years old. He was born in January 2019.  So, while not playing football, he wears the hat of a doting father and he loves every bit of it.

His son reminds him of his late grandfather who died aged 47. With his son, life changed for him.

“If you have a bad game or a bad session, you’re disappointed, but now I think about the bigger picture. I go home and see him smiling, so there’s more important things than worrying about one bad session. You look at things in a different way when you’ve got a kid,” Manchester City reports.

“Honestly, I’m really enjoying it, but I find it quite difficult, always having away games and being away from him.”

WHO SIGNED PHIL FODEN?

Manchester City finally in August 2022 okayed a six-year-long contract for Phil Foden estimated to cost £225,000-a-week ($248,467). So, the 22-year-old remains tied to the Pep Guardiola-led team for the next couple of years.

According to Sportsmail, this deal sees the 22-year-old become one of the highest-paid young footballers on the planet. His compensation climb is by more than seven times and it gives him a long-awaited breakthrough.

The Etihad Stadium’s management views this as a huge boost ahead of the upcoming season. This agreement came despite the fact that an offer was on the table for a number of months.
