Botswana target Cosafa Under-20 Championship title - Sports Leo

Botswana have set their sights on reaching the knock-out stages of the Cosafa Under-20 Championships in Zambia, starting December 4.

Botswana have battled in this competition over the years but coach Keitumetse Paul is hoping to change all that in the 10-day tournament. The team’s best finishes in this competition came in 2009 and 2011 when they managed third place.

Their last appearance came in 2018 when the side earned four points in their three pool games but failed to advance to the knockout stages

He has arranged for a training camp before the team departs for Lusaka, Zambia. He has named a provisional squad which will report for training on November 14.

The squad for Zambia will be trimmed to 20 players who will play in the Cosafa event.

Defenders: Tlamelo Kolagano, Botsile Sakana, Thuto Moloi, Phadza Chose, Tebogo Kopelang, Larona Modisaemang, Leruo Ratala

Midfielders: Thabang Saakane, Kaone Kolagano, Tshephang Kelebogile, Botlhe Pansiri, Mmoloki Shato, Calvin Kolagano, Katlo Gontse, Tefo Molefe, Aobakwe Makhalani, Kabo Matshula

Strikers: Milidzi Muzila, Lefika Koma, Kaone Bogosi, Godfrey Tauyatswala, Maikano Mbakile, Zubair Jalal.
