The news that Cristiano Ronaldo is interested in playing for a club other than Manchester United has sent shockwaves across the football community.

The Portuguese star, who had previously notified the club of his intention to depart, did not take part in the Red Devils’ first training session on Monday.

Ronaldo’s return to training has been delayed due to family obligations; however, the Daily Mail has gone a step further and disclosed the misunderstanding that now exists within United.

The English daily quotes club sources as saying that they do not know when the player will return, nor do they know if he will travel to Thailand and Australia with the rest of the team on Friday.

The future of Cristiano, who has chosen to stay in Lisbon for the time being, is currently a mystery. On the other hand, for certain people, like Gary Neville, finding a solution as soon as possible is absolutely necessary.

Neville stated on Twitter that the only crucial thing with the Ronaldo situation is that it is handled forcefully and promptly.

The Sky Sports football commentator is of the opinion that the most important thing is the pre-season preparation. It entails the work that the team does in training prior to the start of the new season.

He feels that as a result, there should be nothing that gets in the way of Erik Ten Hag’s first few weeks in charge of the club.

Both the Sun and the Daily Mail have reported that Chelsea might be one of the potential destinations for Cristiano once he departs Manchester United.

The Blues’ new owner, Todd Boehly, is excited about the prospect of his arrival at the club. However, these sources suggest that he will first discuss the signing with head coach Thomas Tuchel, as it appears that the coach may have some reservations about the signing.

Ronaldo spent the 2003–2009 season with Manchester United before moving on to Juventus. During his time with United, he won the Premier League three times and the Champions League once.

Ronaldo returned to United from Juventus for the 2021/2022 season. It is possible that his second stint with the club, could soon come to an end.

According to a claim that was published in The Times newspaper on Saturday, the forward for Manchester United reportedly informed the Premier League club that he wants to move during the offseason.

He said that he wants to play for a club that competes in the Champions League. Despite Hag saying that the Portuguese international is a part of his plans, there is widespread speculation regarding Ronaldo’s future at United.

This follows a campaign in which the Red Devils did not win any trophies and failed to qualify for the Champions League.

The 37-year-old player believes he has three or four years left to compete at the highest level of his sport.

The former Real Madrid forward, who still has a year left on his contract at Old Trafford. But overtures by Chelsea and Bayern are confusing people the more.

It remains to be seen which way Ronaldo goes.
