They will be hoping to change that in Qatar and are considered one of the top picks to win the World Cup in Qatar
The FIFA World Cup in 2022 is only a few months away. The prestigious tournament will be held in Qatar at the end of the year for the 22nd time. The World Cup is typically held in the summer.
However, due to the weather conditions in the Asian country, this edition will take place in November.
Without a doubt, the World Cup is the most important tournament in football, and every player hopes to win it for their country.
Some countries have dominated throughout history. While many countries strive to qualify for the main draw following exhausting qualifying rounds, some have made it a habit to win it.
When the World Cup kicks off later this year in Qatar, all eyes will be on these previously successful teams.
Winning the World Cup once requires tremendous effort, but winning it more than once requires a team effort and years of effort.

France is the defending World Cup champion, having won the 2018 edition in Russia.
In 2018, France won the World Cup with a team full of extraordinary youngsters like Kylian Mbappe and global players like Paul Pogba.
They defeated Croatia in the final to win their second tournament.
France won the World Cup for the first time in 1998. The country was also hosting the most important tournament at the time. Les Bleus defeated defending champions Brazil in the final to win the twentieth century’s last World Cup.

Argentina has also won two World Cups over the years. In 1978, the South Americans won the prestigious tournament for the first time.
They were also the hosts, and they made it all the way thanks to the support of their home fans. They defeated the Netherlands 3-1 in the final.
Their second victory came in 1986. That year, Mexico hosted the World Cup, which Argentina won with a 3-2 victory over West Germany in the final. Uruguay, like France and Argentina, has two World Cup victories. Uruguay won it twice, in 1930 and 1950.

Italy has won the FIFA World Cup four times in a row. The country won the tournament for the first time in 1934 when it was only in its second edition and was held in Italy.
Four years later, the government repeated the victory and defended its world championship title by winning the 1938 tournament.
After that, it took Italy 44 years to win its third World Cup title. They won the 1982 edition, defeating West Germany 3-1 in the final, with Marco Tardelli, Paolo Rossi, and Alessandro Altobelli scoring. Italy last won the World Cup for in 2006.
Faced France in a dramatic final, Zinedine Zidane was sent off for taunting Marco Materazzi. The Azzurri won the title on penalties.

Germany is only the second country, after Italy, to have won the World Cup four times. The Germans have dominated the tournament in the past, winning it in 1954, 1974, 1990, and 2014.
Germany won three of the four World Cups, including the 2014 World Cup in Brazil as a unified country.
The latest triumph was truly remarkable, as it also saw the Germans defeat hosts Brazil by a score of 7-1 on the way to the title. Mario Gotze scored an iconic 113th-minute winner against Argentina in the final match.

Brazil is the most successful nation in terms of FIFA World Cup victories. They have five wins, making them the most dominant team in the tournament’s history.
Pele, who scored twice in the final to give the country the first trophy in 1958, has played for the Selecao over the years.
Brazil also won the World Cup in 1962, 1970, 1994, and 2002. It has been 20 years since a South American country won the World Cup, and Brazil hopes to change that in Qatar.
They are considered one of Qatar’s top picks to win the World Cup.
