Following their shocking defeat at Tooro United, leaders Vipers will be all out guns blazing to beat Busoga United and return to winning ways.

The Venoms also have another incentive of opening a four-point gap after their eternal rivals for the championship KCCA failed to win both their games since Vipers’ defeat in Buhinga.

Roberto Oliviera’s men go into the game aware that they face a resurgent side in Busoga United that has won three and lost only one of their last five games.

Siraje Sentamu admits the Venoms were left disappointed in defeat to Tooro United but Wednesday presents a chance to turn things around.

“We were very disappointed, especially with the whole game,” he said. “We know we are better than that. So in that sense, we are gutted.

“But these things happen in football and it is our responsibility to turn that around and we have a great opportunity on Wednesday evening next week against Busoga United at Kitende.”

The trio of Yunus Sentamu, Ceaser Manzoki, and Milton Karisa will again be tasked with breaking down Peter Kikomeko’s side with Bright Anukani doing the creative job in the middle.

For the visitors who are winless in ten meetings against Vipers, Anthony Mayanja, Shaka Ssozi, and Anwar Ntege will be vital.

SC Villa will be keen to put an end to an eight-match winless streak when they host Gaddafi at the Fufa Technical Centre, Njeru on Wednesday afternoon.

The sixteen-time champions last won a league game on December 27 when they walloped Tooro United 4-0.

Since then, they have lost four and drawn as many picking just four points out of a possible 24 in the period.

The decline in form plunged them into fighting relegation as they are only one point above the danger zone with 19 points.

In Gaddafi, they face an equally hungry side that is not yet safe from the relegation monster and also beat the Jogoos 2-1 in the first round fixture.

Greek coach Petros Koukouras will hope his side build on their last two performances as they won the Stanbic Uganda Cup away in Pece and held title contenders KCCA to a goalless draw despite playing the last half-hour with only 10-men.

And, Mbarara City face off in relegation six-pointer

Onduparaka host Mbarara City in a typical relegation six-pointer at the Green Light Stadium, Arua with either targeting a positive result to ease relegation fears.

The Caterpillars are 14th on the 16-team table with 18 points one better than the Ankole Lions who are 15th.

Both are aware that a defeat will leave their hope of survival in jeopardy.

In their last outings, Onduparaka dropped points in a 2-1 defeat at URA while it was the same for Mbarara City who failed to hold on for a draw in a 3-1 loss at Wakiso Giants.

Former Ondu coach Sadiq Ssempigi will be in the limelight against his former bosses as he leads the Ankole Lions at the moment.
