BWF World Championships 2022: Sai Praneeth makes first-round exit

Chou Tien Chen, the fourth seed, beat B. Sai Praneeth 21-15, 15-21, 21-15 to advance to the second round of the BWF

Sai Praneeth exited the BWF World Championships 2022 on Monday in Tokyo. Unseeded Indian lost three games to Chou Tien Chen.

Tien Chen won the first game 21–15, but Sai Praneeth, who won the bronze medal in 2019, came back and won the second game.

Praneeth did try to make a comeback, but a clumsy Tien Chen took the game 21-15, won the match, and moved on to the second round, canceling out Praneeth's effort.

Ashwini Ponnappa and N. Sikki Reddy won 21-7, 21-9 in the first round of women's doubles to move on to the second round.

Maldives' A.N. Abdul Razzaq and F. Abdul Razzaq had no chance against the world's 25th-ranked Indian pair, who beat them in 21 minutes.

Tanisha Crasto and Ishaan Bhatnagar beat Patrick Scheiel and Franziska Volkmann 21-13 21-13 to advance in mixed doubles.
