France’s midfield maestro Paul Pogba interview has been the talk of town in the football world for the past 48 hours. From slamming Manchester United over their treatment of former manager Sir Alex Ferguson to his future plans and football ban, Pogba shared plenty in his recent interview.

To start with, things have not been well with the star midfielder in the past few years. His troubles started at Manchester United where he struggled to maintain fitness hence missing a lot of games and continued at Juventus before he was banned from football after being found ‘guilty’ of doping.

Pogba tested positive for a banned substance in August 2023, which is dehydroepiandrosterone (DHA), a compound that increased the production of hormones in his body. Since the World Anti-Doping Code (WADA) stipulates that the maximum ban he could receive is four years, the FIFA World Cup winner was handed a four-year ban.

The ban started in August last year and was supposed to last until August 2027, but he will get the chance to play again soon after a successful appeal at the Court of Arbitration for Sports. The 31-year-old’s ban has been reduced to four years, which means he will be allowed to play again in March 2025. He had considered announcing his retirement but now has his eyes back on the pitch.
