Who are the youngest Premier League players? From Chelsea’s Cole Palmer to Manchester United’s Kobbie Mainoo, we saw various youngsters make a name for themselves in the Premier League this season. These players managed to shine in a league that is considered by many to be the toughest.

Considering Palmer’s goalscoring, he was awarded the Premier League Young Player of the Year beating several established stars. In this article, we’ve decided to bring you the youngest Premier League players to feature this season, including their ages and the clubs the play for.

1. Ethan Nwaneri

Ethan Nwaneri is one of the young players Arsenal are investing on. The youngster was handed his debut in September 2022 during a 3-0 win over Brentford, becoming the first player in the history of the Premier League to make his debut when under the age of 16.

Nwaneri, who still plays for Arsenal’s academy, was 16 years, 10 months and 21 days when he played his first match in the Premier League. He was handed another appearance at the start of 2024 during Arsenal’s 6-0 victory over West Ham United. The teenager impressed in those two matches and the fact that Mikel Arteta has faith in him, we could see him get more minutes next season.

2. Ryan One 

Next on the list of youngest Premier League players during the 2023/24 campaign is Ryan One. The youngster was handed his Premier League debut in October 2023 as Sheffield United suffered a 3-0 defeat to Arsenal. He was at the time 17 years, four months and two days old.

One joined Sheffield last summer from Scottish League One side Hamilton Academical after amassing 36 senior appearances. Sheffield paid a six figure amount for his transfer which means he is a top player and could show his full potential when given more minutes.

3. Lewis Miley

Having struggled with injuries and the suspension of players such as Sandro Tonali during the 2023/24 campaign, Newcastle United gave chances to several young players. One of the academy stars who Eddie Howe put his total trust in was Lewis Miley. The Gateshead native played his first league match at the age of 17 years, six months and 11 days, making him one of the youngest Premier League players during the 2023/24 campaign.

Miley plays as a midfielder and Howe offered him the biggest chance of his life when he played in the UEFA Champions League against Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Prince. He has played over 25 matches during the 2023/24 campaign, which means he is someone Howe can rely on in the absence of the experienced players.

4. Ben Doak 

Similar to Newcastle United, Liverpool also gave a chance to several academy players due to injuries within the first team. In fact, the Reds squad that won the Carabao Cup final this campaign was made up of youngsters that led to Chelsea being criticized after losing the match.

One of the young players who Jurgen Klopp offered an opportunity this season was Ben Doak who is currently 18 years old. When he played in Liverpool’s opening day of the 2023/24 campaign against Chelsea, he was 17 years, nine months and two days.

Unfortunately, an injury prevented the Scott from getting more playing time when the senior players were sidelined for the same reason. Doak signed with Liverpool in 2022 after impressing at Celtic.

5. Josh Acheampong

May 2, 2024 is a day Josh Acheampong will remember for a very long time not only for the crucial 2-0 win Chelsea recorded over London rivals Tottenham Hotspur but also because he was handed his Premier League debut on that day. Josh replaced another home grown talent Alfie Gilchrist in the second half and became one of the youngest Premier League players this season as he was just 17 years, eleven months and 27 days.

Josh showed signs of becoming a quality player when he recovered quickly to block a shot that was destined for goal to help the Blues keep their clean sheet.
