The Real Madrid vs Bayern Munich match played last night turned out to be one of the most dramatic matches as Real snatched a late win to book their place in this season’s UEFA Champions League.

Joselu, who came on as a substitute in the 81st minute, reacted quickly to level the scores with two minutes of normal time left to play after Manuel Neuer had fumbled Vinicius Junior’s effort. The Spain international then gave Real the lead from six yards in added time to spark incredible scenes of wild celebrations. His second goal was initially ruled out for offside but was allowed to stand after a VAR check.
Real Madrid won the tie 4-3 on aggregate as the first leg played at the Allianz Arena last week ended 2-2. The Los Blancos, who are having an amazing season after being crowned La Liga champions last weekend, will play Borussia Dortmund in the final of the UEFA Champions League on Saturday, 1 July at Wembley Stadium in London.
How The Real Madrid Vs Bayern Game Unfolded
After Vinicius scored a late penalty to snatch a draw for Real Madrid in Munich last Tuesday, more drama would follow at the Bernabeu. The second leg was played in a fantastic atmosphere and Real looked more dangerous from the early stages.
The Los Blancos would have taken the lead a few minutes into the match but Manuel Neuer showed his brilliance by tipping Vinicius Junior’s effort from close range onto the post before denying Rodrygo on the follow up.
Real continued to dominate possession afterwards but the real challenge was breaking Bayern’s solid defence. The visitors were dangerous on counter attacks and almost found the opener when Harry Kane struck a superb volley only for Andriy Lunin to parry the ball away.
On the other end, Neuer was forced to make another big save to deny Vinicius again and ensure the scores were level at the break. There was no huge difference in the second period as Real continued to dominate the proceedings and Bayern relied on counter attack.
The first goal of the match arrived in the 68th minute when the Bavarians started a counter that ended with first half substitute Alphonso Davies unleashing a thunderous strike that went into the top corner. It was his first UEFA Champions League goal and he did score it in style.
Real Madrid thought they had levelled the scores shortly afterwards when Nacho scored from Luka Modric’s corner but the goal was ruled out for a foul committed by the captain.
With time running out, it seemed as if Bayern Munich were going to walk away with a crucial victory at the Santiago Bernabeu. However, that’s not how things turned out as Neuer fumbled a tame Vinicius’ effort allowing Joselu to level the scores in the 88th minute.

To everyone’s disbelief, the 34-year-old scored again in stoppage time to give Real the lead in this semi-final tie. There was a moment of controversy deep in stoppage time as Bayern’s Matthijs de Ligt thought he had taken the game into extra time when he scored only for the goal to be ruled out.
The assistant referee had raised his flag when Noussair Mazraoui got the ball which prompted Real defenders to stop playing before de Light scored. Television replays showed that there was no offside and the goal would have been allowed to stand if the assistant hadn’t raised his flag too early.
