Paula Badosa has broken up with Stefanos Tsitsipas barely a year after their highly scrutinized relationship on and off-court.
It was the Spanish tennis player who announced their separation on social media, catching many people by surprise.
The big question is; what happened? Tsitsipas and Badosa were the perfect tennis couple and they hugely shaped the face of the sport off-court.
Paula Badosa Has Broken up with Stefanos Tsitsipas
While announcing to fans that she had broken up with Tsitsipas, Badosa did not divulge why she ended her relationship with the Greek player. She said that it was a mutual decision and that she enjoyed every bit of it.
“After careful consideration and many cherished moments together, Stefanos and I have decided to amicably part ways,” she wrote on her Instastories.
“We have shared a journey filled with love and learning, and it is as friends with immense mutual respect that we now choose to move forward on our own paths,” she added.

The 26-year-old further remarked that she was overwhelmed by the love and support from her family, friends and fans. Further, the last year will remain memorable because she made memories with Tsistsipas.
Despite breaking up, she will always wish Tsitsipas the best in life because he deserves it.
“We are grateful for the support of our friends, family, and all who have been part of our story. As we transition into this new chapter of our lives, we continue to wish each other nothing but the best in all our endeavors. We kindly ask for privacy during this time, and we thank you for your understanding and respect.”

Tsitsipas started dating Badosa in 2023 shortly after breaking up with Theodora Petala, a Greek-born marketing and branding guru based in London.
Badosa had also just separated from Juan Betancourt who she dated for a while. The Greek tennis star confessed his feelings for Badosa were so much more than normal love.
He told Bild in an interview that Badosa was the perfect soulmate adding that no other woman in his life made him feel the way the Spaniard did.
“It’s very rare that you find your soul mate. If you ask Paula she will tell you exactly the same thing,” Bild quotes him.
“I’ll tell you one thing: I’ve met a lot of women in my life. And I can say that with a lot of confidence. I have never been so attracted to and found so much beauty and interest in a woman. I said that to Paula and she said the same thing and I was glad to hear that from her. Our minds are on the same wavelength, it’s such a spiritual connection,” he stated further.

They had opened the page to document their love story, often sharing their charming images in different parts of the world enjoying life. All of a sudden, all images were deleted.
In a moving video that the ATP released, Tsitsipas gave his reflections on his career in tennis and Badosa took the moment to assure her fans that all was well.
Tsitsipas revealed his abiding affection for tennis in the ATP video taking his fans down memory lane. He fondly recalled how his parents introduced him to tennis in 2001.
Sixteen years later, he played in Rotterdam to commemorate his debut on the ATP Tour. The Greek tennis player conveyed his sincere appreciation to tennis for instilling in him the values of accepting life, never doubting oneself, and persevering regardless of outcomes.
He promised to continue his devotion to the game and aspires to carry on this custom for his offspring. Badosa confirmed that Tsitsipas’ heartfelt video had an effect on her by replying with a dejected face and heart emoji.
