Mason Greenwood was recently named Player of the Season at Getafe after the end of the 2023/24 La Liga season. The youngster spent the season on loan at Getafe from Manchester United and scored ten goals in 46 games, with his efforts getting recognized.

But having already bid farewell to the Spanish club, Greenwood is set to return to his parent club United in the coming days. While it’s unclear what are Greenwood’s plan for next season, United are willing to accept offers for him. The 22-year-old will be one of the biggest names in the market as soon as the summer transfer window opens.

Speaking after being presented with the Player of the Season award, Greenwood thanked his teammates and the coaching staff at Getafe.

“It feels amazing to receive this kind of award but I obviously wouldn’t be able to get this kind of achievement if it wasn’t for my team-mates and the coaching staff. Everyone has done well in helping me get this award and I just want to say thank you.” Greenwood is quoted by Goal.com.

Which Clubs Could Mason Greenwood Join?

Juventus

Juventus have previously expressed interest in signing Mason Greenwood from Manchester United. According to an article published on Goal’s website in April, Juventus believed that they could agree transfer fee for Greenwood with United at a fee that is less than his value in the market. However, the club knows that luring the 22-year-old to Turin won’t be easy.

Atletico Madrid

Atletico Madrid showed interested in signing Greenwood during his spell at Getafe. The Spanish giants were genuine with the move but were not willing to pay Manchester United’s asking price which is believed to be €30 million.

Greenwood has had a great season in La Liga and staying there next season would definitely be an option for him. The youngster will also be interested at the prospect of playing in the UEFA Champions League, which Atletico have qualified for after the end of the 2023/24 La Liga season.

Barcelona

Another Spanish club which Mason Greenwood could settle at next season is FC Barcelona. With manager Xavi’s exit already confirmed and Hansi Flick‘s official announcement being the only thing remaining, we can be sure of changes taking place at the club this summer. The Catalans will release some of their players and sign new ones.

Considering the fact that Robert Lewandowski is approaching the end of his career, Barca could decide to invest in a young striker like Greenwood to lead the forward line in the years to come. However, the only challenge that they could face is the fee Man Utd will ask for Greenwood. Barca have been in financial wrangles for the past few seasons.

Valencia

Several teams in Spain are eyeing Greenwood and Valencia just happens to be another. According to The Mirror, Valencia have previously been linked with a move for the 22-year-old. However, it is unknown just how much they are willing to pay for him.

Napoli

While Napoli might have succeeded in keeping Victor Osimhen at the club for the 2023/24 season, it’s very unlikely that they will convince him to stay next season. This means that the Italian side will be without a proper striker during the 2024/25 campaign.

Well, they are already preparing for his absence and held talks with Manchester United over the possibility of signing Greenwood.

Conclusion

Despite several clubs showing interest in Greenwood, Manchester United might struggle to sell him in the summer. The Red Devils will not release Greenwood for a few millions considering he is one of the finest young forwards in the world. If they fail to agree a deal with the clubs that will show interest in him this transfer window, he might remain at Old Trafford for the 2023/24 season.
