The German will play in the UEFA Champions League final this Saturday before deciding his future. While it hasn’t been specified where he will be playing next season, there is a a high possibility that he will land in one of the MLS powerhouses. Whether he will be playing alongside Lionel Messi or at Bastian Schweinsteiger’s former club Chicago Fire, it remains to be seen.

With that said, let’s take a look at five MLS clubs that could sign the star midfielder.

1. Inter Miami

From Lionel Messi to Luis Suarez, Inter Miami currently boasts having the best players in the MLS this season. This means that the club could provide a perfect opportunity for Reus to blend with other stars and aim for titles in the United States.

Also, Inter Miami head coach is looking to strengthen his midfield and Marco Reus provides a perfect option for that. The German has played at the top level for many years and having him in your midfield could be very important when chasing titles.

2. Los Angeles Lakers

Two weeks ago, former Chile striker Ivan Zamorano who is now working as an analyst for TUDN narrowed down Reus next destination to Los Angeles.

While the player hasn’t made his destination, Los Angeles Lakers could have an influence considering they are bringing in another top player from Europe this summer – Olivier Giroud. The AC Milan striker has already signed a contract with Los Angeles that will see him join the club mid-June until December 2025, as per ESPN.

3. La Galaxy

Considering what Zamorano said, La Galaxy could also be Marco Reus next destination. The Galaxy have recently invested in top players and adding Reus to the team could be a win for manager Greg Vanney.

The MLS side brought in wingers Joseph Paintsil and Gabriel Pec for a few believed to be close to $20 million. They have built their team around former FC Barcelona star Riqui Puig, who is just 24. It remains to be seen if they will approach the player this summer transfer window.

4. St. Louis City

The Athletic’s Tom Bogert reported a few days ago that St. Louis City had held preliminary talks with Marco Reus camp. However, they two sides are yet to reach an agreement and St. Louis City haven’t placed the player on its discovery list, which is an MLS process which stops any other team in the league from signing a player.

Apart from competitions in the MLS, Bogert added that St. Louis City will have to try harder to convince the player as he is also on the radar of clubs in Saudi Arabia and Turkey.

5. Chicago Fire

Chicago Fire could well be an option for Marco Reus this summer. They have been struggling to hit form this campaign and signing the German could help them get back on track.

While there are no reliable reports at the moment linking Reus to Chicago Fire, the MLS club could make a move for him in the summer. The midfielder’s former teammate Bastian Schweinsteiger spent the last years of his career playing for Chicago Fire.
